new york aquarium

anyone been recently? how much time do you need there?

We went recently. With two year olds. So we didn't stop and look at everything. We did about 2-3 hours and left. We didn't see everything but, they didn't know. I would imagine with older kids you might need more time. The sea lion show is aobut 5-10 minutes. Other than that you just go through the exhibits. It's easy to lose track of time just staring at some of the bigger animals playing. Chat Icon

Went last week and spent about 2 hours as well. DD is 2yrs old

DD1 is 5 1/2 and we were there for 6 hours....but we also stopped and ate lunch and she likes to read what the exhibits are about so it takes longer for us to get through....

DS was 7 months when we took him and we only stayed for a few hours.

Depends on how much time you spend - I think 2 hours is good. It is definitely a place you can do in the morning.

The exhibits are mostly indoors but you have to walk outside to get from one to another. Although the penguins are outside too. Plus they might not do shows in the rain. I would wait until it's a dry day.
