New Years Day Dinner at Millerridge (long)

was horrible!!!!

We called early and made a recervation, no problem. It was packed but I guess there was no wait. We got seated right away. And the place looked pretty with all the decorations.

Now, the service was so so slow. 3 hrs for dinner with a 5 month old baby is way too long. The food was bad wedding hall type.

1. It takes like 20 minutes for the waiter to bring a coke and a sprite over. Actually it felt like we only saw him every 20 minutes. Chat Icon
2. We get served these freshly baked rolls, mmm I'm excited until I open it up and it was raw in the middle.
3. So, we order appetizers. I order baked clams and DH orders fried mozz.
My baked clams were pretty cooked on the outside and the stuffing was raw in the middle. So I sent back and asked them to cook them a little more. Of course it came back charred on the out side and still raw. So I say, ok, maybe it was me. DH was expecting like a mozz en carozza but he got mozz sticks, lol.
4. When he brings back my clams he said our salad was ready if I wanted to wait. I said no he could bring now. Well, don't know why he took so long to bring if it was ready.
5. Now dinner comes and neither Dh nor I finish it since it wasn't that good. The waiter sees half the food on the table and aksed how it was. I'm fuming by now and tell him flat out that I didn't like it. Well now he's mad! "Oh, nothing to write home about" he says. Me: "No not really"
6. Desert finally comes out and I had asked for half and half with my coffee and even though he asked me twice brings out something that looked like skim milk.
7. 3 hrs later I have to change my baby and there is no changing table in the bath room downstairs. I had to go somewhere upstairs.

Sorry so long but, I needed to vent. All I have left to say is I know we wont be going there again.

Re: New Years Day Dinner at Millerridge (long)

we had a dinner there years ago and it wasn't much different.

Sorry about your experience.

I hate going out on holidays. It's always overrated.

We went there yesterday after a funeral. First our waitress dropped a fork on me, THEN she proceeds to spill coffee on my BRAND NEW CASHMERE JACKET AND MY WHITE SWEATER! I didn't feel anything but she kept saying to me Watch watch watch, i thought she was just trying to pour coffee so i was trying to move out of her way. She could have said don't move i spilt coffee on your jacket and it got a little on the back of your sweater. She just walked away and was not going to say anything. Everyone at our table was eyeing her to make sure she was going to get someone. She did after she poured coffe to another table. As i was getting up to get management someone came over who was a little rude to DH. They are going to pay for our Drycleaning bill but they still. I was pizzed. The food was not that great. Don't think we will be going there again!

My mother LOVES that place and everytime we go it isn't good. I think people go there more for the atmosphere then the food. I totall agree with you.

Sorry it wasn't good. Chat Icon Chat Icon

We were there right before christmas and the service was SO slow. The food wasn't bad but IMO they need more items on the menu.

yeah I was so disapointed. And it wasn't cheap neither. And we had considered this place for dinner after my Son's Baptism. I would have been so empbarrassed.

My family and I had a similar experience when we went for my Mom's birthday.
They put us in a room by ourselves and forgot all about us. We had to search for someone to take our drink order after waiting 20 minutes.
The food was okay, but I did love the popover biscuits. We were there over 3 hours!
My wedding shower was there and the food and service was wonderful. I don't understand why the dinner service is so awful.

We used to always go New Years Day with my XH and his family. Sounds pretty par for the course. Except you forgot about waiting an hour for your "reservation" but we did enjoy the Milleridge Villerage (as XMIL called it)

We go there every Christmas Eve, too! It was great this year, but I did think the menu was more limited than in years past.

Re: New Years Day Dinner at Millerridge (long)

I went there with DH & MIL over the summer.

There was this really noticeable musky/mildew smell in the air as soon as we walked in. That just started the dining experience off on a wrong foot for me.

The food was not good - I can't remember what we had because it was awhile ago, BUT I know none of us finished anything that we ordered. I would not go there again.

Unfortunately that place has nice ambience during the holidays but it has never been known for its food.

I hate that. Chicken should not have meat with it.
