My heart is breaking just looking at the pictures of him. I'm glad to hear he is doing better. We had a similar experience with our pug that we bought from Shake A Paw. Good Luck with Howard, he is a cutie.

Your experience says it all about the atrocity of pet store.
You should by ALL MEANS say the name of the store. You should tell everyone you know the name of the store.

I commend you for what you did. I know some people would have taken Howard back to the pet store and not even think twice about it.
I'm glad to hear that he is doing better. He is absolutley one beautiful and luck dog!

 You saved his life and you and your DH were meant to be his mommy and daddy! Looking at those pictures....I just wanted to take him in my arms and give him kisses and all the love I could give. Please keep us updated on Howard and post pics of him as he grows up!!

He is adorable and it is so wonderful that you helped him. We rescued an english bully and he went through so many issues from day one of bringing him home, so I know how it feels to become so attached, so quickly.
If you have any questions on the English Bulldog side, please let me know. The breathing is an issue and there are some easy things to do to make sure that they are able to continue breathing normally.

The poor other dogs - God only knows what kind of health issues the other ones probably have! It is terrible to even think about.
Oh and I understand you being worried about saying the name - but, it's different here vs. LIW. With LIW you couldn't really bash vendors. This is a little bit of a different situation - they are not vendors on here or anything. But, if you feel bad I have no problem saying it -
Selmer's in Huntington.

We went in there once to get a leash - we looked at some of the chinchillas because we always find them interesting. Well, turns out that they were "cleaning up" after one got crushed to death because they piled crap on top of it's cage that was WAY too heavy and it fell, the cage came apart, and the chin was crushed!! 
That place is a NIGHTMARE.
So glad you were able to uncover this! And help the dog - he is adorable.

Yes it was Selmers, they were very nice about the whole thing, but I will never step foot in that store again. We miss Charlotte!! Hope all is well

Thank you everyone for reading about Howard and his battle. DaniRella was correct , the Petstore was Selmers Petland on Jericho tpmk in huntington. I'll never step foot in there again. Howard is doing really well, thank you all again!

I think the informational portion of your post should be added to the sticky at the top of the forum.
To the OP, as a curiosity and in no way meant to start a debate - you don't have to answer if you don't want to - did you read that stickied thread before you got Howard? If so, I think if Ron does decide to use your post as part of the stickied thread, I think you should elaborate on your frame of mind when you first read it, and what led you to the store anyway.
Again, NOT a drama stirring. But if there's some way to get the information through to people who are considering a purchase, that may help.
