Never say never...

What's something you said you would NEVER do, but you have.

I grew up saying I would NEVER live in New Jersey. Guess what? Chat Icon

Re: Never say never...

I went to school for Literature and swore I would NEVER get a job using numbers because I wasn't a fan of math. I work in finance.

Also - I remember once saying that I would never date anyone with dark hair and light eyes because it looked 'weird' and because I wanted a blonde haired baby. My husband has black hair and blue eyes. I no longer think it is weird.

I was young and stupid. I still say "I will never..." though... so I guess that makes me OLD and stupid! :)

Re: Never say never...

When I was almost 21, I would never date anyone younger than me because they wouldn't be able to go to bars with me. I met my DH, who is a 1.5 years younger than me, right before my birthday. I didn't know he was younger than me until a couple months later. He was getting into all the bars right along with me.

I said (many many times over many many years) I would never have children and now I have a one-year-old son!

I no longer say "never" to anything.

Re: Never say never...

Early in my engagement, I remember there was a thread on LIW that asked which BM dress colors do you dislike. I replied that I would NEVER chose lilac/plum/eggplant/purple/amethyst or anything in that family.
Well.......

I said I would never live with a smoker. Marrying one was out of the question

I don't now but it's only because my DH quit 3 years after we married.

I said I would NEVER date anyone that was younger than me and he had to be much taller than me (I'm 5'9 1/2"). Well, DH is a year and a half younger than me and is only about a half inch to an inch taller Chat Icon
