need some hugs..
I posted last week about how my DH and I have decided to move to CT... well, my family isn;t really supporting us in this move, his family sort of, but I am feeling so alone right now...

This is really hard but in the end you have to know this is the right move for you and your DH and the family you will have together. And CT is not that far either to visit. good luck

I would just give your family some time! Deep down they want what is best for you guys, but something like a move is hard on everyone.

DH and I live in CT, and it really isn't that far away. We see my parents (on LI) about as often as we see DH's family (in CT). We actually live closer to my parents than his family. I really like living in CT. Most parents don't like when their kids move away, but you have to do what's best for you and your DH.

DH and I went through something similar last year, when we left Queens for Putnam county. While it's not that far, my mom's only able to drive short distances and she was really upset. The bottom line was that living on LI wasn't going to work for us for a few reasons. She understands, but doesn't like it. Hang in there!

Distances are only long when you don't drive them regularly. We used to drive to VT (8 hrs) every weekend to go snowboarding. If visiting becomes a regular thing, the distance grows shorter.
I'm sure if they realized that they missing someone & not wanting them to leave was coming off as not supportive, they would feel bad about it.
