Need small to mid-size SUV help
I am looking for an SUV that is not too expensive. Of course I love all the luxury touches so that would be a plus. I was considering the Buick Encore thinking it would be good to buy American and then found out it is made in China. Nice SUV though. Also considering Subaru Outback, Lincoln MKX and Lexus NX300. I don't need a third row seat and prefer not to have (or pay) for one. Any info on these models or any suggestions? TIA.

Need small to mid-size SUV help
My father in law just got a RAV-4 and loves it. He had a CRV before which he also loved but, the lease deals were horrible.
My dad has a Mazda MX5 that he loves as well.

I just got a 2017.5 Nissan Rogue SV with the premium package and its great. It has a 7 inch touch screen display, built in navigation, remote start with intelligent temperature (when it remote starts, it senses the outdoor temperature and adjusts the heat/AC/defrosters as necessary), hands-free trunk opening, rear back up camera, front camera, and side cameras, and lots more. I leased and the price was reasonable given all the features. There is no 3rd row but I feel its roomy -- I'm 5'10" and have head and leg room.

Thanks for the suggestions. I took a quick look at the RAV4 but haven't driven it yet. I did drive the Lexus NX300 (based on the RAV4 platform) and that was really nice. I'll look into these. Thanks!

I'm a huge Subaru fan! I currently have the Forrestor, which may be may favorite car that I have ever had and my grandfather is on his fourth Outback and he is extremely happy with them.

Re: Need small to mid-size SUV help
I have the Chevy Equinox and I absolutely love it. My lease is up in January and I'll either be getting another Equinox or switching to the GMC Terrain, which is the same body and engine, just a slightly different shape and the interior is a little different. I highly recommend the Equinox though - it has everything, lots of space, drives beautifully, and they just came out with a new model this year that's very sleek.

Re: Need small to mid-size SUV help
I don’t know how it compares to the others you mentioned, but in the redesigned Lincoln MKX (as well as Ford Edge) they made the area where you sit more sedan-like, and as a result smaller. The car itself is just as roomy and big, there’s just a lot less elbow room in the front seats. My family for years has rolled over edge and mkx leases, and this year my father switched from the mkx to Ford Explorer, and my dh (a big guy) has trouble getting comfy in my new edge.

The new MKX is so small on the inside. It looks like it would be huge. I sat in there and felt like I was in a clown car. My husband (6'1) couldnt even sit in there because his head was hitting the roof even with the seat all the way down.

I have the Range Rover evoque. As much as I love it, it wastes sooooo much gas. Unless you have a Bjs or Costco gas station nearby, It's not worth it. I get like 8 mpg.

Thank you for all the information. We are still considering the MKX. My DH is about 6 ft and he is ok with it (hasn't taken it for a test drive yet though). I also like the Cadillac XT5. Very different from the MKX. Right now I can get a better deal on the MKX. Decisions, decisions!

Decided on leading a new 2017 MKX. It is comfortable for me and DH, as well as my DS and we got the best deal on it.
