Recommend your Small SUV
Gulp, I always said I hated big vehicles but I think we need something larger than a sedan. I would drive a mini if it was up to me, lol.
Can you recommend your small SUV. High mpg is very important and low cost.
We have a sonata and love it but realized we will be needed a second vehicle soon. Have 1 child now but are thinking of adding a second one in about 1-1.5 years. So room for 2 car seats and some stuff in the back is key.

Loooooooove my Toyota Rav4. We have the V6 Limited and it is so roomy, realllllly zippy, and great on gas for a small SUV. I've had mine for 6 yrs with NO problems, love it!!

Re: Recommend your Small SUV
I leased a Mazda CX9 and just traded it in for the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Laredo model.
I wasn't crazy about the Jeep at first (going from crossover to more of a truck base), but the mileage it gets is AMAZING. I never imagined this at all.
I live in Western Suffolk and work in Manhasset. I only use a 1/2 a tank of gas ALL week going back and forth.
It also comes with an ECO button where you are supposed to get at least 30mpg.
I haven't used that yet though, but at least one other poster on here has mentioned it.
I miss the Mazda but we never used the 3rd row and in comparison, the gas usage sucked majorly. I'd fill up twice a week with the Mazda.
I also think the new Cherokee seems more compact vs. older models.

Love my forester. Was originally gonna get the rav 4 but Toyota was having issues when we were shopping in2010. Tried the crv but I'm only 5 foot and had issues reaching buttons on the dash. So we went with the Forster and have NO REGRETS!

Re: Recommend your Small SUV
As someone who has chosen to drive very small cars for the past 13 years (mini cooper included) it was tough for me to make the transition to an SUV. I really had no choice though. Having a baby and a 2 door car just didn't seem practical.
I test drove EVERYTHING small. I actually ended up with a CPO Volvo XC60. It drives well, I can see all around me, and has features ( back up camera, and noise sensors that tell you when you are too close to vehicles and other lanes) that make it extremely stress free.
I ended up paying a little less than I would have paid to purchase a new Honda, VW, Toyota, and Ford. It had a warrantee, low mileage, and has been great.

We had a Forester and loved it but, I think for passenger space - the Sonata would have been bigger.

Re: Recommend your Small SUV
I have an older Rav4 (05) but in a year or two I'll be upgrading to the 2011/2012 one. The RAV is really great on gas.
Or a 2011/2012 Acura RDX.
