I got a tattoo for my mom also. It is a celtic symbol of a "mother's love" which is a heart inside a heart. I have it on my inner ankle. You could look up meanings like that. (Don't mind the sock marks )

I have a tatoo that represents my dad - it's a four leaf clover because his family is of Irish decent.

I have a tatoo that represents my mom - it's two strawberries on a vine. My mother's maiden name means strawberry in French.

Can you incorporate something to that affect?

my sister and i have been talking about getting matching tattoos, since last summer. we want to do something to honor our mom... she's alive and healthy, but such a staple to us - our backbone, inspiration, our everything, i'm sure many of you understand. anyway, neither of us really have any ideas what to get... i was thinking of maybe incorporating a symbol for inspiration somehow, but i don't even know what it looks like. i'm sure we'll go check out a tattoo parlor and see what jumps out at us, but i thought i'd come here for some ideas as well. LIF ladies and gents are always the greatest with that
so... anyone?
