Need advice

Hi All,

I've been a lurker for a while but this is my first post (hi!!). Sorry, this may be long....

I was on BCPs for 8 years but took my last pill in Oct. At first we weren't officially TTC but weren't using protection either. I get my period very regularly - usually 26 days, but could be 25-29 - so I assumed O around CD 13.

Last month DH and I decided to start TTC, but lucky me, I got kidney stones smack in the middle of what I thought was my O week. While at the hospital getting my CT scan to confirm kidney stones, the dr told me I had a cyst on my ovary. I didn't think much of it at the time. In fact, I figured I was going to O in the next day or two so that's what they saw. I also remember having EWCM while in the hospital.

Fast forward to this month and back to TTC. I decided to use CBE digital OPK to confirm when I Oed. I've been testing around 6am (I'm an early riser) using FMU. Well, I'm on CD 14 today and no smiley yet! Considering I have a short 26 day cycle, I should have Oed already. I've had EWCM the past 2 days and DH and I have BDed every other day since CD9. But not seeing that smiley has totally bummed me out.

Is it possible I have regular periods and EWCM but don't O? Is that cyst the dr saw in the hospital something to worry about?

I never got a smilely with the test in the am. I tested in the afternoon all the time. When it was getting close to when I thought I was going to O then I would test 2x a day.

It is possible not to O and have the signs of it but you wont know unless you temp. I highly suggest temping and taking daily notes on CM and how you feel. You will get to really know you body and when you will O.

I agree, I never got a unless I tested after work.

I had short cycles like you and did not O until cd 17-20. I used the cbefm and temped.

Does this mean you tested twice a day and only got in the afternoon, but negatives in the morning? I feel like it's so late in my cycle (CD 15 - another neg this AM) to start testing in the afternoon, too.

I have my annual with my gynecologist on Monday so maybe she'll be able to tell if I O? It's just so depressing to see the big fat circle on the test every morning.

Thanks, ladies. That gives me some hope. I just got so worried when the hospital told me I had an ovarian cyst last month. I guess I'll see what my gyn says on Monday.

As for testing in the PM, is a 7pm ok? I usually work until pretty late.

I test twice a day and most of the cycles i get my smiley in the afternoon. Just mae sure you do not drink too much fluids and hold your pee for 4 hours if you test in the afternoon. You may not have missed your O. You may have O this month and just missed your surge, so I say continue to BD every other day.
