Ok I was poked and prodded and sent to the hospital ----
I have toxoplasmosis. I have contracted the parasite sometime within the last 5 years or so, and once it's in you, it never leaves. The parasite is manifesting itself in virus form, and is causing outbreaks similar to what a herpes outbreak presents as. Fun fun funnnnnnnnnn
I asked the hundreds of people that thought my face was soooooo cool, "What causes it to flare like this?!?!" .... their #1 answer was "exposure to infected cats."
I HAAAAAATE CATS.
So apparently, the cats cause this parasite to "act up" and give me a rash. Which explains why my mosquito bites from Venice (or so I thought) haven't gone away since July. Damnnnnn catssss.
Rich has 2 in his house- they're 17 yrs old and stupid.

there's no medicine you can take for it, so the symptoms aren't as severe??

AND I am shocked at the diagnosis!! I mean if you hardly go near Rich's cats, how could you have possibly contracted this?

Is it possible to have an epi pen. If their is any type of a reaction at least you'll have an epi handy.
Mu hubby had to use his epi pen about 2 weeks when he had major red ant bites that sent him to the hospital and the epi pen was the best thing he could have used while waiting for the ambulance. (I was at work already and he couldnt breath and I told him not to wait for me get an ambulance)
I have an epi pen as well and I hope I never have to use it.

I don't even TOUCH his dirty beast cats!!!
They gave me pills - 500mg a day for life.
My MIL called to see if i was still swollen - i told her the diagnosis, and she said NOOOO WAYYY is that from MY cats. They haven't killed things in years!
helllllllo - once they have it, they have it FOREVER!
She's IMing me right now, and she's SUPER-DEFENSIVE. hahahahhahah
