mold in the bathroom
We rent. Our bathroom has no fan, just a window, which we leave open all the time as to at least help with the moisture, it doesn't. Our toilet runs all the time, and our shower drips. We have mold ALL over the ceiling... which is a popcorn ceiling. The landlord has been notified about the toilet and shower weeks ago and after telling him about it a second time, comes by to look at it today and says that the mold in the shower and on the ceiling has nothing to do with the drip and running toilet and that I should have been cleaning it. First of all, I give the shower a really good scrubbing once a week and a few days later its covered in mold... that doesn't sound right to me. And as for the ceiling, like it's not hard enough to clean a ceiling, how am I suppose to get rid of mold on a popcorn ceiling AND I'm 7 months pregnant, what can I use? TIA

Re: mold in the bathroom
I would have a mold air test done. I would want to know if their is an underlying problem. Your local ServPro may know a company that test for mold.
Good Luck Arthur

Re: mold in the bathroom
my bathroom in my co-op does this bc it has no fan and we cant install one. We have to scrub the ceiling with water and bleach like once a month.
You can do that, and then ask your landlord to buy mold resistant paint and paint the ceiling with it to help. We intend on doing this, just havent gotten around to it.
Can you put a dehumidifier in there too?
