mmr spin off ...whats the.reason for delay?
Dd has an appointment tomorrow and most likely getting the Mmr but I'm curious to know why some people wait till the child is 2 -3 yrs old. Whats the difference from 15 mo to 24 mo? Thanks in advance. I still haven't made up my mind and want to do the right thing with as much knowledge as possible.

For me its just knowing her body her mind her organs are more developed. Theres only so much their little.bodies can handle. I will reevaluate my decision when shes 2-3 because im personally not sure i will do it then.
I have 2 personal family friends that made me very concerned about ever getting this shot.

mmr spin off ...whats the.reason for delay?
Well 2 different kids. 2 different families with kids 2 years old went from being talkative articulate childrens to complete mutes who will not talk at all. They had to be evaluated and and receive some type of speech therapy. And are being screened for any type of autism spectrum.
Now both familes (1 is a close friens of my 1st cousin i know their child and 1 is a close friend of my fil who i have not met their child) but i know these people arent telling tales or exagerrating truths. Their kids showed no signs of autism or speeh issues prior. Their kids got the shot and shut down. Im sorry thats a strange coincidence. I know they were contacting their drs office to get the lot # of the vaccine and are contacting lawyers.
So im sorry im truly not trying to scare you but make sure you have all the gacts and make sure your comfortable. Do what is best for your family.
I also have tons of friends whose kids got it and are totally fine.

My sister is a children's chiropractor and has seen many instances of fully functioning children become off after the shot. I asked my dr if they have the individual shots and they do not. I don't want to get it until she's older but with daycare I'm not sure how that would work.

Re: mmr spin off ...whats the.reason for delay?
Medically speaking, there was one study that showed that a bunch of kids who got their MMR shot AND had a GI syndrome at the same time had autism. It went from an association (as it was published) to cause & effect (as it was made out by celebrities). The study was retracted, because when investigated, it was not properly done (kids were showing sx of autism before their MMR shot).
Sadly, disorders tend to show up around the timing of the MMR shot. Some people delay it just to be sure their kid is developing normally.
There are pockets of measles going around in communities because of the fear.
SPEAK to your doctor. That is the smartest person who you have access to on the topic!

Some say its the one that can lead to autism. Although studies had disproven that, it's not worth the risk to me. I don't feel comfortable not vaccinating, but I will delay until they are a little more developed. They are not in daycare. My one DD already has some sensory and language issues so I want to wait til she can communicate better.

thanks everyone. In the end I did wind up getting the shot for her. She is in Day care and while immunizations are required there I know there are kids that dont. What a hard decision. I pray everything will be ok.

You have to do what you want to do... EVERYONE is going to give you a reason to do it or not do it!! I have family and friends in Europe whose kids never get the vaccine and they are autistic. So that wasn't a fear for me.. My dr explained everything to me and I got DS his shot....
