MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
Can you tell me if you delayed the MMR or gave on time? If you delayed, why did you and when did you give it?
Many thanks!!

I will not delay it. Even more so now that all those theories were proved to be bunk anyway.

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
We delayed, but not for the usual reasons. Our ped gives it at 12m, but we found out that the vaccine contains eggs - which DS is highly allergic to. Because of that we had to have his allergist administer the vaccination in a controlled setting. Due to some prior obligations (I had surgery, Thanksgiving, etc) we wound up waiting until he was 15m.

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
Nope - at the 1yr appt for both. As a PP said, the "study" was a deliberate fraud - to the degree that many in the scientific community are calling for prosecution of Dr. Wakefield.
No reason to delay, MANY reasons not to IMO

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
We went with the peds schedule. Both kids got it at their 15 month appointment. They also got the chicken pox vaccine at the same time. DS had no problems and DD has another week left if she does have a reaction (she got the MMR a week ago).

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
I went with my ped's recommendations - 12 months for DD#1 and b.c DD#2 was sick we delayed her 12 month visit so she didn't get it until 13 months.
My ped does not give CP and MMR at the same time - if he did I would have delayed one - and not given 2 live at once.
DD#1 had a reaction - DD#2 had no reaction at all.
Etd to add.
You never know when or where they could be exposed to any of the MMR components.
I can tell you that the year before DD started her preschool - (she goes to a co-op which means parent participation is required) - A parent fell sick later on the day she participated in the class room. She was a Pediatric Nurse and she came down with Measles she caught from a patient. They had to vaccinate everyone and from what I heard parents who had delayed panicked.
You just don't know where or when your child will be exposed or what the consequences of that exposure will be. So for ME that is why I didn't delay.

I have no plans to delay. I just want to make sure it is the only shot she receives that day.

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
I didn't delay on purpose... we went for her 15 month appointment and she was supposed to get MMR and something else, but the dr. informed us the fridge was left open over the weekend and all the shots were sent back. It would take a few weeks to get new ones so she didn't get any shots at her 15 month appointment and the ped said it was fine to wait til 18 months and they will catch her up. So she'll be getting it next month at 18 months.

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
I wont delay it because, chances are DS will be in playgroups with babies who's parents delayed it. And that makes it enough risk for me. Those are some ugly illnesses.

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
we gave ds at 18 months ~ I was freaking out ~ there was outbreaks of one or two of the diseases (not remembering which one) on Long Island! I would rather ds get the shots than the diseases.

Re: MMR - did you or didn't you delay?
We gave DS the MMR at 15months which was on schedule with his ped schedule. I didnt see a reason to delay...
Actually now that I think of it I think he was 16 months when we actually got his appt.
ETA: we did MMR and CP the same day
