So I have it the worst!!! I am going to be miserable til I am dead!
Why? We don't have to be miserable...we have to live the lives we want NOW because we're not here forever. Don't settle!
I gave an end date because they so didn't want me to leave and I can get comfortable...so being unemployed and possibly having a mortgage will be hard...but if not now, when?
I wish you strength!!

uhhh hahaha good question - I dont know! Well its hard to leave family ya know? DHs parents and my grandparents and uncle are in FL....but then theres the rest in NY - its hard to leave....what to do......

besides... its not even like what i'm in school for is my passion- but its something to do for the next few years or so. i get bored of life pretty easily.
my REal passion is Trophy wife-ed-ness (minus the working out aspect). Unfortunately, i married a man who's passion is to be a trophy husband (Again, minsu the working out aspect)... so we're kinda screwed in that area.

OMG it's unbelievably hard...DH still hasn't "officially" told his family. Mine is down there but they're nuts and NY is all my DH knows...plus his family is awesome and we have to leave them behind. Why? We could actually OWN a home. We could actually HAVE kids. We could actually work normal hours and spend time relaxing. We could actually have extra money. So many lists were made and as hard as it is, the pluses outweighed the cons by a lot...so we have to try it. Worst case scenario we come back. But at least we tried.

Us too...we were floppers as well. It took 2 trips in a month to seal the deal. And we drove both times...with Mr. Blue... So we really want it!!

i'm trying to realize that life doesnt always have to be about "what the next step is"... i dont really care if i stay in NY and rent, and live below our means, if it means we'll have a comfortable life and friends ad family around us. i'm trying to scratch that 'keeping up with the jones's' mentality

I know...we tried it...we did the "numbers" I have a great job, love it, it's a dream company for me. But it made no sense. I see my family and how well they're doing and how happy the kids are (mind you we live in Brooklyn now, not LI, if we could afford LI we would stay) and we just have to try. Plus, the RE market is getting crazy down there too!!

YES!! You're right!! You have to see what it is that you want out of life and go after it!! It's easier said than done but if I wasn't in the middle of doing this I would never advise it. It's ultimately about the life you want...screw everyone else!!

i want to raise marching flamingos in St Maarten (Yes, they DO exist). but the schools and healthcare down there arent that great. so i'm probably going to abandon that dream.

Look at my nieces...do they look happy? This is not a park...this is their front yard!! 
I grew up free and happy...open space, lots of cousins (in PR of course)...I want the same and MORE for my own kids!
