meeting for drinks question
I have a blind date this weekend and he suggested we meet for drinks. However, I'm not a big drinker - don't like the taste of beer or wine, and I'm a lightweight if I drink anything else. Just a few sips makes my head swim.
What would you recommend? Order a drink but only take a few sips? Is there something that tends to have less alcohol content? Go ahead and order a soda?
I don't have an issue if the other person drinks so it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me - I just don't want to seem like I have anything against it when it's just not something I like for me personally.

If you want to nurse a drink just to be social or whatever, I would suggest eating a decently heavy meal beforehand. I find if I don't eat, forget it- one drink and I start to feel it, 2 drinks and I'm a mess.
Eat something with fat and carbs before hand, make sure your stomach is coated and full.
Then you can order a glass of wine- do you like wine? - and nurse it.
If you want to go even lighter, a wine spritzer is always an option too
ETA_ just read you don't like wine. Sorry!
You can also order a cocktail like a vodka cranberry, vodka and club soda and just tell the bartender to make it light
Also some bars have hard cider on tap or in bottles- that's always good. Tastes like apple juice with some fizz

Order a soda or coffee and drink that.
You do not have to explain yourself to anyone, nor put yourself in a position that makes YOU uncomfortable.

Saying you're meeting for drinks is a catch-all. You don't HAVE to order alcohol. Just drink whatever you like.

no need to drink alcohol, have cranberry juice with selzter and lime, a soda, coffee.
I'm not much of a drinker either
P.S if YOU do drink stay away from sweet drinks, these types of drinks can make you feel sick sooner,

Ahhhh the things we fixate on!
You were fine ordering anything you wanted if it were just drinks. Before I drank coffee, I'd go for coffee and wind up with Hot Chocolate lol It doesn't matter

with my now husband, we met for drinks. I was so nervous we sat at the sushi bar for 5 HOURS and i didnt order a single drink. we got food and i had one bite. Im such a nerd lol!

Yes, first it was drinks for Sunday at 5. Then his Sunday morning fishing plans were cancelled so he asked about Sunday brunch. Then today he asked if I'm available tonight for dinner.
I'm ok with it. We both have shared custody of kids so I imagine it's tricky working out when both are available. Plus I didn't have any plans tonight other than going to the library for more books.
