It depends, if it is a quick run I go to Florence ave. If I am hanging out all day I go to Robert Moses.

When I lived there, it was all Jones Beach - and not the main beach - is it field 6 that you drive right up on? Geez, it's been too long.

Florence Ave is not private, just small. It is on Florence avenue, off of Division Avenue (the street by All American)
Robert Moses is a bit further. It is in Islip and you have to pass Jones Beach to get there. I don't know why I just like it better.

Moses is probably about 15-20 min from you and Jones is probably about 10-15 from you depending on traffic.

You need a town of oyster bay sticker to park at Florence Avenue, but if you park on the street and walk in you are o.k.
We usually go to Tobay.

When I lived there I liked TOBAY, but you have to be a town of Oyster Bay resident, so Seaford won't qualify for that if you live there.
Florence Avenue is off of Forest Avenue I believe, not Division. You then turn down Jetmore, I think, and make a quick left and follow that road down.

Long beach- I trek out there.
Jones beach, changed a lot and not family oriented..at least the field that is open at time. Seems like the others fill in quick.
Tobay is good too. Less walking.

I go to Lido..you just have to show nassau residence and its cheaper, and to me nicer than jones...also less crowded

when I was a kid and we lived in Massapequa we went to ToBay- now my mom lives in Amityville, and she goes to Overlook..
I'm moving to amityville June 1 (finally got a new place- phew- goodbye NJ) and will get a sticker to Overlook as well- they do tons of family events and have a Beach Hut food shack w/ alcohol (wooo hooo).
I always found the town run beaches are better than the state run beaches in terms of crowds.

Tobay or Jones. You can go to florence and pay. It is just a local beach with canal water. Absolutely All American and carvel after the beach. What memories!!

I grew up in Seaford and live in Amity. I would always go to Jones or Tobay but Tobay in the middle of the summer has TONS of green flies. I go to Overlook now and LOVE IT!!!
Tanner Park has a new "beach" they also have a spray park!!
