I have a silly question, my big toe really hurts (at the nail), anyone else?
I remember after my first 1/2 it turned black and after this 1/2 its just throbbing. Just wondering if its normal.

I've had so many of those stupid black toenails. I lucked out for this race. Does it hurt? It could be a black toenail. If the pain does not subside, you could see a podiatrist. If it's a black toenail, it's probably too late for them to drain it for you. If you get to them within a day, they sometimes can drain it out for you.

I know nothing about the toenail- luckily but do you have the City Jogger in Ruby- the new dual stroller for your twins? I have the same stroller and I thought it was DH and my kids during the run. Then I told my friend, thats my stroller but thats not my dh or my kids!

I do!!!! That is really funny!!! I can't stop laughing cause I was looking for them during the race and whenever I saw a red stroller I did a double take.
Yes it was DH with my daughters Paige and Mia :)

Thanks for your response. Its really sore, just laying in bed with the blanket on it hurts. I have this feeling the next couple of days its gonna get dark, its starting to change colors now.

omg one of my toes hurts too. mine didnt turn black and does not hurt anymore, but looks different than the others. i got dr scholls fungal cream. i get this everytime i ski-its terrible.

I constantly lose my 2nd toenail (the one next to big toe). It never hurts that bad but after a few months of training for a 1/2 it turns white and gets funky looking and eventually falls off.
However earlier this month I did a 14 mile run and my toe was THROBBING afterward, it hurt so bad I could not even touch it. It turned completely black after a few weeks and looks disgusting right now! It looked like a blood blister formed underneat the toenail or something and its all bruised. My issue is my left foot is a tad bigger and that toe is big too and it hits when I run. I slather it with vaseline before long runs (as per my podiatrist) but it doesnt help. Also the toe next to my pinky toes turn black from time to time, so ANNOYING!

yes - my one second toe is longer since my big toe, so it's had problems since I was running track in HS.
after this marathon cycle, I'm about to lose 4 toe nails. well maybe just 2 will come off, but the other two are also black.
a fungicide will help it from getting a nail fungus, but you just have to wait it out. For next time, an ounce of prevention: your running shoes should be .5-1 show size bigger; nails should be cut short constantly; always wear socks.
