MacArthur Airport
I am new to LI and traveling out of Macarthur tomorrow morning.
Any tips I should know? How long do you think I need to get through security? I always fly out of JFK, is it as crazy? Our SW flight is early- 6am.
We are traveling with DS so I am nervous since I don't know anything about this airport!

MacArthur Airport
I've never flown out of there but my dad has. He said they went from the parking lot to the gate in about 10-15 minutes. He said it was amazing and a breeze. He also took an early morning flight and it was on Thanksgiving!

The airport ALWAYS looks empty, until you board your flight. lol.
Security is a breeze.

Security is quick. They don't have the same number of flights going out as JFK or LGA so there are much fewer people.
Also don't know if you're driving or not, but the parking lot is super close to the terminal. Walking through the terminal takes all of 3 minutes. I always say it's like a giant bus stop rather than an airport.
As much as I hate southwest, I tend to fly them a lot because it's my home airport and so much better than going to JFK or LGA.

From parking to getting through gate, like 10 mins. Seriously, nothing like JFK or Laguardia. It's amazing!
