Re: Lybrell - no more periods?
yes I do think its insane. We get our periods in order for our body to naturally cleanse itself of the lining that we buildup. Not gettting a period just seems not natural to me.

I dont know if I would want that. It is supposed to happen for a reason, just seems odd to start screwing around with mother nature.

It would also be pretty difficult to tell when your BC had failed!

Re: Lybrell - no more periods?
if you are on the pill already- you aren't really gettting your period- so this is really not that different then seasonal- getting it 4 times a year
I personal take mulitple packs in a row and it's annoying- sign me up for this! it sounds great to me!

Re: Lybrell - no more periods?
I use to get the Depo Provera shot and loved not having periods. However I was one of those people that seemed to get my periods very heavy and twice a month. It was horrible, so not getting it at all was like a dream.

Re: Lybrell - no more periods?
I've had to take continuous birth control pills, where I did not get my period for months. I had surgery for fibroids/endometriosis and it didn't help enough with the painful periods or the anemia that I was getting. If your period makes you anemic, that affects you all month and it is not just a few days of inconvenience. I was one of the lucky ones for whom continuous birth control works. I hesitated to try it and I lost several months in which I could have been well. Some women who have what I had continue to bleed anyway. I did what I could to address the cause of my situation and I am still interested in learning more about that. Some doctors would have suggested hysterectomy, especially if I had this problem 20 years ago.

I wouldn't take it either. My period isn't that much of an inconvenience.

That BC pill Seasonal killed a woman, she formed all kinds of blood clots in her body and it killed her! I would never mess with pills like that!

actually this is not true... the lining in the uterus only builds up after ovulation - in order to get ready for the possible implanation of an egg. If you don't ovulate (which you don't on the pill), then the hormone to bulld up the lining is not triggered. In actuality, recent generations of women actually have so many more periods than women in the past, because women used to spend most of their child bearing years either pregnant or breastfeeding. So in a sense, it is not natural to have so many periods.

I am on the pill and get a period, so what am I shedding if not a lining every month?

I took it too, for two years. All BCP carry the risk for blood clots.

was so hostle? lots of things we do everyday have killed 1 or more people- that's life
no one is forcing you to take it- my doctor let's me take 4 packs of yasmin in a row- so I really don't see the harm in this pill- just like I don't see the harm in seasonal
