i have to look it up again- but you do NOT get your real period when you are on the pill
so techinally I haven't gotten my period in 11 years

well, once you stop taking the "active" pills, you stop giving your body the artificial hormones, and what is there is shed... it just doesn't get as thick as it would be if you were ovulating.

Ok thats good for you, but I wouldn't take a risk knowing that it did kill someone! JMO.
was so hostle? lots of things we do everyday have killed 1 or more people- that's life
no one is forcing you to take it- my doctor let's me take 4 packs of yasmin in a row- so I really don't see the harm in this pill- just like I don't see the harm in seasonal
I'm not hostle--lol I was just saying my opinion!

So wait a minute, people who are already on the pill are against this? I hesitated to do this because it was at a time when I decided not to put any hormones into my body.
There is so little difference between what you put into your body when you do this vs. taking the break for a week so that you can bleed. If your lining does happen to build up while on the pill then guess what-- you will have breakthrough bleeding. A doctor can also tell if your lining is too thick.
I'm glad for all the people who said that their period is either not much of an inconvenience or just a minor inconvenience. I am not one of those people and I've been through a lot to try to fix that. I probably would not do this if not for my medical condition, but the option was a lifesaver. (I'm pregnant now anyway but only after intentionally stopping the pill).

I agree with you- I don't think my period was as bad as yours- but before the pill it was more then a minor inconvenice- the pill was a life saver to me- my period was beyond heavy and it got to the point where I couldn't sleep the whole 7 days I got it and then I would get it again 2 weeks later- it was horrible- the pill changed all that for me
I am going to talk to my doctor about this new pill- it's been 11 years since my period was bad- and I still haven't gotten over it- High school and my first year of college were a living hell!

I totally agree. That can't be very good for your body.
If I were sick with any disease, would I not treat it because I'd be going against what my body is naturally doing to me? Should we get everyone off their anti-depressants right now? Stop cancer treatments? Is it so bad that it is not "natural" that my husband wears an insulin pump so that he can live a normal life?

the bleeding is caused by the change in hormones during the week you stop taking it. - thats why you spot if you miss a pill -

I can see why this may be good for some women who have serious problems when they get their periods - I was just thinking that some women may do this for convenience as well...
But, if you have endometriosis or serious problems, then this may be a very good thing...

No - being sick is completely different - it is NOT natural to have cancer or diabetes - these are debilitating illnesses that can kill you, while for most women, their AF will not kill them - its something that is supposed to happen every month - cancer and diabetes are not things the body is supposed to have, so medicine is necessary to keep things in check....

of course it's a convenience- so are regular birth control pills- esp seasonal- isn't that the whole point of it?
I really don't see what the big deal is- considering you don't really get your period when you are on the pill
I have been waiting for this day since I was 12- I hate getting my period- and if there is a pill I can take to stop it- I will!
I plan on talking to my Doc about this after I do some research

That BC pill Seasonal killed a woman, she formed all kinds of blood clots in her body and it killed her! I would never mess with pills like that!
many many women die each year from blood clots caused by birth control pills or patches. . . . it is a major side effect and it is increased by smoking and age.
I think this is a great idea - I will definitely try it out in a year or two after it has been out for a while - after the discovery of increased risk with patches, i want to play it safe.

When I was skipping periods all over the place, my doctor told me its perfectly healthy to get 4 periods a year. Which is why he did recommend Seasonal.

Same here-for many reasons.
See, I understand your views on this a lot more than I understand the views of someone who is willing to take the pill but thinks it is so terrible to alter the schedule.
I think that a person who takes it continuously but does so on schedule every day is a lot safer than someone who misses pills during the times of the month when they are not supposed to miss.
