I think there is some sort of timer (2:30)and when it gets close to count down he has to reset it (execute with the numbers) or maybe somehting will happen- like the island gets blown up... experiment over.
Ok this is my new theory!!

It was probably a protection sent out when Locke executed those #'s....like that "Monster" on the island
that is again what DH thought.. that this 'Shark" was executed perhaps when Desmond made Locke type in the numbes and execute?
They did the stories back/forth between the Raft (mike, sawyer) and the hatch (locke/desmond/kate) so you could get a better jist of the timeline and when things were happening simultaneously
But Red, good theroy about the animals being superhuman ... I think there is more to that.. and we have yet to understand why a polar bear (from last season) would be on an ISLAND?

Oh I'm telling ya, if you want truely crazy theories and OVERANALYZATION of every minute details of eveyr show, the LOST boards are craziness
But there is some good stuff on there too
I do say that I think the producers/creators have the "REAL" stuff so well protected ,,,,that any spoilers to speak of might be false rumours deliberately leaked to get people going

No I do not believe "THE OTHERS" are the people at the back of the plane
I think the OTHERS are holding the other passengers of the flight captive.. it seems that the Ana Lucia chick (Jack's girl from the bar) is shocked to learn that Sawyer, Jin, etc are from flight 815
Danielle aka french lady makes it seem as though the others have been on the island for a LONG time, well at leaste partly as long as she has .. which is what, 16 years?
