yes check out the Cherrybrook kitchens mixes - they are dairy free - and I think their vanilla cake mix you can use oil instead of margarine. The mix doesn't have soy in it. They are great for allergy kids (dairy free, nut free, gluten free etc- depending on the way you use) they also allow you to alternate what milk or oil/butter you put in to accommodate your DC's allergies. I used them when DD#1 was on her elimination diet.

I don't like their frosting - I used her dairy free margarine (you could use any butter substitute that your DC could have) and I mixed it with confectioners sugar and vanilla extract. You can use food coloring if you want something other than white frosting. Just make sure you use a hand mixer to get it the right consistency.

Would you just substitute it for the milk in a regular recipe or will it ruin how it bakes??

I made this recipe for DS's smash cake, it was delicious!

I used vegan butter (Earth Balance Soy Free), coconut milk & vinegar to substitute for buttermilk, and egg replacer for the eggs. I didn't have a vanilla bean so I just omitted that.

What kind of egg replacer do you use? The ones I find are just soy & wheat Chat Icon I end up using applesauce and baking soda (1/4 cup and 1 tsp per egg).
