1st birthday cake for DC with milk allergy?
For DS first birthday I am going to get a regular cake for everyone but I need a separate, small cake or even a big cupcake for DS because he is allergic to dairy, it gives him a horrible face rash the second he eats it.
Where can I get something for him that isn't made with dairy? Do they even make something like this?

Sweet Peace bakery in Lynbrook is doing an individual cake for DS, and I am doing cupcakes for everyone else.

Re: 1st birthday cake for DC with milk allergy?
I haven't found a place that does dairy free yet we just found out recently about DD's allergies - BUT - for the past few months I have been making cakes and cupcakes for DD that she likes.
If you are willing to bake - try Cherrybrook Kitchens - they have a vanilla mix (see it in stop and shop, and other grocery stores)- it is diary free, peanut, tree nut and I believe gluten free mix. I make my own frosting - with a dairy free margerine I found. I use the directions on the back of the confectioners sugar package minus the chocolate. It is just confectioners sugar, I use margerine and vanilla extract and then use a hand held mixer to whip it. DD's friends all like it too.

If you are willing to bake, and dairy is the only issue (if he's not allergic to anything else), a lot of packaged mixes and frostings are actually OK (depending on the flavor)...you could just use dairy free margarine in place of butter for the cake.

I always baked my son a separate cake not only for his bday but for any party we went to. Shoprite's own cake mix has no dairy in it and just just add eggs, water and oil. It's delicious!!!!

Same! DS is having his own cake made by this bakery! I went to HS with the owner!
