Last minute announcement ideas?

We are telling most of our family tomorrow who still has no idea I'm pregnant. They actually have a feeling I have good news, but the "word on the street" is that I probably have a surrogate who is pregnant

It's VERY obvious when looking at me now that I'm pregnant so I was planning on just walking in the room and waiting for people to be like .. "wtf?" (or something more classy than that)

Any other ideas for announcing my good news? I feel like I can't do much else because I look pregnant right away. I can't even announce it without people knowing at first before taking my coat off because I'm at the point where I can't close my coat now so I just wear it open. Anything interesting I may be able to do still?

I didn't have a special announcement for my parents and inlaws. But, for the rest of the family and friends I announced my pg via FB with a picture of my family with a corny narrative. I was wearing a shirt that said "baby love" and dd was wearing "Big Sister" . Maybe, you can find a shirt that indicates you are pg. I got my Shirt at Destination Maternity.

If it'll be really obvious when u take off your jacket then the baby bump will do all the talking first.

If it were me, I'd have a little fun with it. I'd take my coat off and not say a word and just let everyone stare for awhile and act like nothing is up

At some point I'd probably ask if there was a certain food around b/c I was craving it or something like that.

I would wear something like one of those shirts with a baby on it or "bun baking" "due in xxxx" etc if you want to let the bump speak for itself. Wear the obvious shirt and have a camera in your hand to catch their reactions.

From my experience, people may look but not say anything even if its glaringly obvious you are with baby and not burrito. My pre-preg weight never fluctuated more than 3lbs and even at 28 weeks and 15lbs+ people would finally ask if I was pregnant.

I don't know if you could arrange this - but we set up a family picture and instead of telling everyone to say cheese we told them we were having a baby.....then snapped the picture. The photo was awesome!!! People's faces are so funny and genuine. Maybe you could have someone set up the pic and say the line as you walk in/take off your coat so people have auditory and visual confirmation, you get to see their reaction, plus you get to keep it in a photo forever. It might be unrealistic to plan, but just thought I would share.

Maybe show up late so everyone is there to see you take off your coat and "unveil" yourself?? And maybe put a tshirt underneath like this one http://www.cafepress.com/mf/12157362/baby-inside-ash-grey_tshirt

Or something along those lines to make it more obvious. (I think you can get shirts like that in any maternity store.)

I vote walking in screaming IM PREGNANT! Maybe whoever knows already can have everyone in one room when you arrive?

maybe walk in holding baby booties in your hand or hang a pacifier around your necklace.

Maybe walk in and keep your jacket on for a minute or so. Bring a sono picture and walk up to someone and say wanna see a cool picture? And show them...let them be excited and then take your jacket off?

Thanks everyone, everyone's ideas are creative. The thing about wearing a shirt to make it extra obvious is .. it's def not needed My belly is VERY obvious on it's own. I was small to start and gained over 15lbs already (by 18wks) and I'm all in the front and just 5ft tall. I've already had strangers (waiters... store associates... ) comment on my belly!

I guess now I'm between showing someone a sono pic with my jacket on or just walking in, taking my coat off, and waiting for people to be like .. whattttt theeeeeeeeee


I can't believe in about 24hrs from now (a little more actually) they will know!!! It's a hard secret to keep for 18 weeks!!

I read this in a blog. The couple announced the pregnancy by pulling out an onesie that read "freshly baked" and didn't say a word. It took the family few seconds to realize that they were pregnant. I think they bought a white onesie and wrote freshly baked with a marker on it. Would love to read about the families reactions.

Crashing...do you have a video camera? Ask your DH to walk in with a video camera already going so that you have everyone's reactions! And maybe bring cupcakes. Who doesn't love cupcakes?

Walk in and leave your jacket on and say "so we found someone to carry our baby". Then take your jacket off. Then watch the jaws drop. Lol.

Maybe do something in regards to pink and blue...or just walk in carrying pink and blue cupcakes and ask ppl to pick their favporite team??

With ds#3, we had my older two walk into my parents house carrying a pink and blue lax stick (lax is big with them) and they asked my parents, which do you think, pink or blue?

Or say something clever about not keeping kosher for Passover since you have a bun in the oven? or a matzoh in the oven??? You will have to come up with the clever part since I'm no help there. Lol
