Just starting lexapro for anxiety... UPDATE....
Did it help anyone? I read the side effects and some reviews - and that alone gave me anxiety - bad things - nauesa, dizzyness, worse anxiety, couldn't get out of bed, etc. SCARY...

UPDATE - so Dr. wanted to try 5mg then go to 10mg, side effects SUCKED on 5 mg, I stuck it out and felt good - then 2 weeks later went to 10mg and now terrible side effects again...or just that the anxiety is back - anyone with experience on side effects all over when increasing the amount ??

I know 2-3 people who have taken Lexapro. One of them took just one dose and literally couldn't tolerate the side effects. He was jittery, his heart was racing, sweaty palms, queasy, and way more anxious then before taking the meds. The other person was on it for a few months but hated himself while taking it, said he never felt like himself and had many side effects. Both stopped the meds.
Of course, the reaction will be different for everyone but I've read some bad things about Lexapro too. It also takes a few weeks before you start to feel better and have the meds take any effect.

the side effect s normally only are a week or so until your body adjusts to the meds. they will subside.

I took It for post partum anxiety and it worked great. No side effects at all. It took some time to take affect so I had Xanax also for a bit too. Give it a couple of weeks.

I take it. Im veey happy i decided tk start. It realy helps
Me. No side effects other than it took a week or 2 to adjust and if i forget itto take it a couple days it throws off my
Stomach br nothing terrible.

The only thing I was able to tolerate when I was taking something years ago was Paxil.
A family member takes Zoloft and is fine with it
It takes time to get used to any of these meds as your body adjusts. But some had terrible side effects for me. It's hit or miss

The side effects of taking Lexapro got worse before they got better. It took a while to get used to the meds but once you adjust, it helps SO much. For the 1st month I was taking Lexapro with Xanax for the side effects. I've now been on it for 2 years, I very rarely need the Xanax.

Just starting lexapro for anxiety...
I took Lexapro but with another med (similar to Xanax) until I eased into it and then only needed the Lexapro. Doing both meds really helped with the side effects.

Just starting lexapro for anxiety...
I am on Zoloft and it has been wonderful for me. For the first 2 weeks I suffered through the headaches, trouble falling asleep, increased appetite. But it has all been worth it. Those symptoms went away...and so did my anxiety (well, lots of it). Good luck!!

Just starting lexapro for anxiety...
All antidepressants have what is called start up side effects for the first few days after taking the medicine but they should definitely get better within a few days. Make sure you also have a fast acting anti anxiety medicine like Xanax or Ativan on hand if you need something to help with the anxiety.

I'm having a hard time with medicine lately, I've been on 3 different drugs already and still not finding relief. The Xanax helps but don't like the drugged up feeling. I have been on Lexapro in the past and it worked for me, currently on Zoloft but not feeling better with anxiety.

Just starting lexapro for anxiety...
I tried it, but it only helped one end of my mood, and yes I felt jittery. About 2 weeks into it, I jumped ship and found Zoloft to be so much more balanced at getting rid of the weepy depression and blowup anxiety, together! No side effects except some weight gain.

YES. It saved my life during a really rough time. Was having major panic attacks, could not leave house. It worked wonders. No real side effects I found. I know lots of people on it and it has helped them as well. I am no longer on it but it really helped me. Good luck!

Just starting lexapro for anxiety...
I was on lexapro after my mom passed away. I think it worked, but I felt drugged which I didn't like. I also had a hard time weaning off of it and had a lot of side effects.
I'm now on Zoloft for anxiety. I'm on the minimum dose and I find it to be working.
They're all chemicals so it all depends on how your body will take to it. It's kind of trial and error.

my Dr did a genetic testing in my mouth and not sure if it came up or not. But I'm not sure it would work again if I had taken it in the past. She seems to be giving me drugs that came up with my results but having the opposite effect.

It worked great for me until it started to impact my libido/sex drive. We switched to zoloft. I prefer paxil or lexapro

This exactly happened to me. It was great until then. I went off it and have not tried anything else as of yet.

I was on Effexor for anxiety and it had no noticeable side effects. Talk to the doctor because they will find the right medication for you.

My father took Lexapro and literally made him crazy. He was a shell of himself. He would talk to himself, forget where he was. He had horrible dreams.
