I know how you feel 100%...when we moved to NC last year, I was really depressed for at least two month...I felt so lonely. I don't think i've ever cried so much...poor DH didn't know what to do, he tried so hard to keep me happy.
Once I got a job and started making friends it was so much better. Give it time...everything will fall into place.

I moved to ATL 6 years ago. I used to live the in Emory area, and now I'm out in the burbs.....but if you have any questions, or need help finding anything, let me know. I'm not sure what area of town you are in.

Relocating is tough. DH and I did it about 7 months ago and we have family here. It will pass and you will feel more at home the longer you are there

Have you joined a gym in your area? i find that going to the gym makes me feel a little less isolated when i am new to an area. Especially if you can take classes and meet some of the others!
Don't worry though, you will get used to it soon!

Aw...I admire your courage. Sometimes I try to imagine what it would be like if we were in Chicago and had taken that move. I'm glad we're near our fams; family is everything to us.  At least you can come on here and feel better!

really displaced and lonely today.
Moving is hard, and not having a routine or a home that feel like my own is getting me down today. It's been 4 days and I really hope to get over that hump quickly.
I forget what it's like to not know where to get my nails done, pants shortened, etc. Also working from home is lonely....

Ugh, hang in there!
DH and I moved twice in a three year span and it completely sucked not knowing where to go/get/do the little things like manicures and finding a good dry cleaner.
If you can, try to get involved with a community thing at night. I joined a local volleyball league which enabled me to meet people with the same interest as me and we were all around the same age. It helped getting to meet and befriend new people.
Too boot it helped keep me in shape and got me out of the house.
