Jess's thread had me thinking...regarding AF

She was talking about AF and how light it is for her...

I'm wondering - how is yours? Rather than talking about being regular...how long does yours last? Heavy, light days, etc?

I'm just paying attention to it now...my first two days are pretty heavy, third day is so light I don't even need a tampon, and fourth, fifth days have reddish to brown spotting. (it's been this way on and off the pill, but prior to the pill it was much heavier and longer)

So....mind sharing yours? I wonder if it means anything....never really looked at it this way before.

TIA!Chat Icon

I normally need meds to start mine, but they are pretty regular in regards to flow. Mine sounds pretty much like yours, ending with the spotting. It usually lasts about 7 days.

Mine is horrible!

Usually day 1 or 2 (sometimes they switch on me!) is unbearably heavy. Think changing a super plus tampon every 1-2 hours and wearing a pad "just in case."

Day 3 is usually just heavy.

Day 4 is usually medium to heavy.

Days 5 is usually "regualr" tampon material.

Day 6 is typically light or spotting.

i can do this from 3 ways:

before i was on the BCP:

HORRIBLE, PAINFUL, MEGA flow. I'd get sent home from school with the pain, i was on vicodin with the pain and would have to change my pad 2-3 times a day.

Was eventually put on the pill to help with the pain and due to cysts.

DURING THE BCP:

slightly uncomfortable, but the extreme pain was gone. Barely bled - but still wore a pad.

PILL CHANGED TO YASMINE: no more pad/tampon necessary - i never, ever, ever bled outward. I'd have my period for 3 days and the only way i'd know is by wiping.

OFF THE PILL: 4 days max (though I spot at the beginning and end - but don't count that). As my thread stated, I could wear one light days pad and not change it (though i obviously do, as that would be grody). I barely bleed outwardly...but when I wipe - WOW, it's there!

Re: Jess's thread had me thinking...regarding AF

Mine starts out heavier (although not technically that heavy since I was on BC), and it tapers by day 3 to lighter colored blood.

However, I just started my first month without BC, so I would imagine that it will be really heavy like it used to be Chat Icon

This is pretty much similar to mine...especially the first two days - watch out!

Day 1- Light
Day2 - 4 - Very Heavy!
Day 5 - light

Sometimes the heavy days are so heavy they scare me, but then I realize this happens every month!

Re: Jess's thread had me thinking...regarding AF

I'm so wacked out about my latest AF - although I think all my periods after the pill have been similar. Day 1 was very heavy...Day 2 was heavy but not as....Day 3 soooo light it was ridiculous. Today? Not there so far. WEIRD!

I just wonder if our visits with AF say anything about our fertility...Chat Icon Not necessarily whether they are regular...but how long they last, etc.

Mine is like this since I had DD for the first 3-4 days I never bled that heavily before - then it gets to a medium heavy flow around day 5, then lightens up suddenly to a light flow for about 2- 3 more days. So usually a full week.
