well rock on....i agree with the majority of what you said

one question...if the police officers that were primarily involved of the minorty race...
do you still find what happened racist?

just curious

I'm not sure that this situation was racially motivated but honestly minority police officers are also bigots against minorites. They are just as quick to conclude that a minority suspect was in the wrong. I personally know a Latino NYPD lieutenant and some of the things that come out of his mouth about minorites scare me. Thankfully he is no longer in my circle of boyfriends of close friends.

DH has some Black male detective friends who hold some views that I also find racist against minorities.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I concede that everyone has some racial biases (some more so than others) but people that are hired to "protect and serve" with badges and a licensed gun should keep such views in check as much as possible.

agreed

it has less to do with black vs white and more to do with the fact that time, place, criminal background put them at a disadvantage. Any clutural background can be racist even within their own race, there are so many other factors in this case, it is just UNREAL!

well, it would just be silly to think that they would bring out the best in people.

then they wouldn't be called "hot" topics.

they'd be called rainbows and butterflies Chat Icon

I thought you weren't sure if it was inside knowledge or not- maybe she just heard it on the news? I don't even know if it is "inside" or if it is now public knowledge. And I don't think she has anything to worry about- she just stated something that she had heard- and she is not giving out personal information. I don't think there was any reason to state that she should be careful, JMO.

The shell casings inside the car aren't public knowledge yet....and yes, she should be careful what she writes (which is why I have only argued the media "facts")....I know all of the true facts first hand....but will not discuss them here until everything has cooled down in the media.

Ok, calm yourself, I was TRULY just looking out for her. BTW- why are you talking for her? In this post and in another you have spoken for her a few times. No need to get defensive "for her" this is a public forum and if you say something that is not in the media it is obviously not public knowledge yet.

maybe i SHOULD watch what i say... it just truly irks me that everything thinks they know everything, when in fact, they haven't a clue. so quick to judge. but again, if you weren't there and you don't know firsthand, don't be so quick to judge based on what the media throws out there... it's not an informed judgement. i'm done.

excuse me....but most of us are reading the newpaper and watching what we see on tv ...

Not for nothing opinions can be formed on that...not everyone has to go seek out every little detail.
ASIDE from the fact that WE WEREN'T THERE...
WE MIGHT NEVER know the real truth..

Newspapers nor cops are never 100% truth in the forthcomming of FACTS..

So i will say i won't really believe any of what is said by etiher side now.

But in bare min info...people CAN AND DO form opinions..and there is nothing wrong with that..
CONVERSATIONS and talking to others can bring more light into the subject..

IT HAPPENS EVERY FLUCKING DAY since nobody knows everything Chat Icon

So unless YOU were there that night or anyone was THERE that night...

then we ALL don't have a clue...we are going on what the media is telling us

I agree with you!!!! Some people have been condemning the victim while others are condemning the cops. So having said that everyone including you and I are passing judgement IMO without knowing the facts. We are all guilty of it.

This I agree with too.

I said it on my first post on this topic...we need more details.

Probably won't get them, but it's never OK to judge. And I've been guilty of that too. Chat Icon

I'm really not going into how I feel about this whole thing (there is just too much no one knows for sure and the whole thing is so sad for everyone), but I just wanted to say that somewhere - I HONESTLY don't know which media outlet - but somewhere I heard about the casings in the car before MrsKelly said anything - so it must have gotten out to the press b/c I don't personally know anyone in law enforcement.
