Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
Never at a movie.
I have seen him tear up 3 times:
At his Grandmother's funeral At our wedding and a few years ago, when we were argueing over me quitting smoking and he told me his didn't want me to die young from smoking - that really hit me and I quit.

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
My DH is NOT a manly man... but he RARELY cries. I have seen my husband cry exactly 8 times in the time we have been together:
1. When we were dating and I broke up with him. 2. At my father's funeral 3. When our oldest son was born. 4. When my sister died. 5. When our second son was born. 6. When my mother was diagnosed with Cancer 7. When my mother died. 8. The day of our wedding.
And by cry, I mean his eyes filled with tears. There were no sobs or waterworks or anything. It's actually a little weird how unemotional he seems sometimes.

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
The closest I've seen my DH to crying was on our wedding day. No tears actually left his eyes, but he was all teary eyed during the ceremony. His lip was quivering.
And also... BTW, I don't equate crying and manliness in any way...

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
I've only see DH cry one time, when we got a pretty severe "diagnosis" while pregnant with DD#1. (She is fine )
I would venture to say that I would NEVER see DH crying at any movie.

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
My DH isn't a manly man at ALL (as a matter of fact, when I first met him, I was almost positive he was gay!) However, in the 9 1/2 years I've been with him, I've NEVER seen him cry. He said he was close at the wedding. I bet he'll finally lose it when we have our first baby.

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
My man is a big sap. It's really cute actually to see a big burly football player guy cry. I am also very emotional and expressive and can't - in retrospect- see how I could have been with anyone else other than someone like DH.
He bawled at our wedding when I was walking down the aisle. Not watery eyes or a single tear...major waterworks, big ugly cry. He had the whole place going. I was holding it together pretty well until I caught a glimpse of him. It was the best moment of my life.
I love my mush.

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
My husband isn't butch but I've only seen him cry twice:
1. When he thought I was hurt 2. When his Grandmother died.
I'm the blubbering mess during all the movies, not him. He considers it his job to be strong and console me instead.

Re: Is your man a "manly" man?
I don't really think of 'manly' depending upon whether or not he cries occassionally.... if that were the case, then yeah, DH is manly....
but he's not into fixing stuff, and doesn't know how... I've taught him all he knows about home/car maintenace/gardening.....
so I guess I'm the manly man of the house

I have only seen him cry 2 times since I have known him and both times he didn't cry for longer than a minute.
I am SOO curious to what in the world he would cry for...
Besides the time we pulled the plug when he was taping a NASCAR race

DH rarely cries, although he can be an emotional person...
He cried when I broke up with him once He cried when DD was born and, yes, he cried at the movie "8 Below" because he LOVES dogs
