Is this dress too big on her?

I'm thinking yes, I need to order the smaller size. I just always found sweater dresses to run small, but not this one apparently Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Also, which tights should she wear for Christmas? She's wearing the argyle in the picture, although the dress is so long you can barely see them Chat Icon In the pic it's: argyle, white, off-white, dots/stripes.

So-- is it too big? And, which tights for Christmas?

I do have adorable red patent mary janes, but doing that with white tights with this green dress would be weird, right?

Yes it is definitly too big...but I love it on her. I would keep the tights and red shoes.

Yeah, I thought so, as soon as I took it out of the box it looked huge Chat Icon

Which tights with the red shoes?

great dress! where's it from? she looks adorable.

I'm partial to boots with sweater dresses, but the black may janes work too (I wouldn't do red). I like the white/ivory cableknit tights. The others detract from the great dress.

I would probably keep the black shoes, and do either the ivory tights, or the ones she has on in the pic.

Thanks everyone. The dress is from Janie & Jack. I was looking for boots but couldn't find anything I liked that fit her.

ETA: I guess I'll order the smaller size dress too and just see which fits her better and return the other.

I like the miniwear cable tights with the black shoes. I also think the dress is a little big on her. I would get the size down and see which one is better and then return the one you don't want.

Personally I think your daughter could wear a burlap sack and still look absolutely adorable, BUT yeah, too big...

I would go with those argyle ones...so cute!

I love the dress-maybe try the smaller size and see which looks better.

I vote for the argyle tights with black patent shoes.

She is so cute!

Re: Is this dress too big on her?

While it is big on her I would caution you in buying the smaller size...I can see it being too small...

Im basing that opinion solely on the fact that the sleeves look long but not REALLY long on her.

Id be partial to the cable knit ones myself...and Im the queen of crazy tights for my girls.

Shoes wise??? well I dont know what they have out now really for kids..but I want to say some kind of junky mary jane type shoe...

Re: Is this dress too big on her?

The length looks too long but the top seems fine. I would do the polka dot tights! We have the argyle tights too !!

ETA - just looked at the pis again - the sleeves look long too.

If you plan on it being her Xmas dress and don't expect it to last through the whole winter, I would get the smaller size. If you want her to wear it all season, I would keep this size.

I love the dress!! She looks adorable in it! While it is big I am not sure about the next size down - it could be borderline small. I have a few dresses for DD that are big - but I decided to keep them b/c she will get a lot of wear out of them rather than getting the smaller size that she will outgrow soon. I would consider keeping it depending on how much wear you want her to get out of it since it is such a cute dress. But you could always order the smaller size and try them both on again and make your decision that way.

Love the dress, espcially the color. But it is too big! And I would do the argyle tights or plain white cable knit.

ETA: Just a thought, but has the dress been washed - because that might shrink it too, so you have to take that into consideration when thinking about going a size smaller.

Do you want me to pick it up for you at Janie and Jack in case it won't be to you in time?

I don't know that it is TOO too big you know? The sleeves look too long, but the waist looks like a drop waist and that doesn't look off, you know?

Re: Is this dress too big on her?

Thanks everyone-- it definitely looks too big to me too...I ordered the smaller size, they're having a $7 Express Delivery promotion going on right now...I hate spending the $$, but I just feel like the dress is too long (although I stink at being able to tell what length her dresses are supposed to be Chat Icon Chat Icon ). We'll see what the smaller one looks like.

I haven't washed it yet, it's 100% merino wool, so I'm guessing it would shrink a bit...but I wasn't planning on washing it before she wore it-- although that's an idea if I want to get some more use out of it.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to figure out. The waist-line looks right, but the length after that just looks too long-- so hard to figure out Chat Icon
