I think it is perfect.. maybe if it was a bikini I would think twice.. but Def cute and adorable.. I would not do the sunscreen everyone uses something different.. DS and DD use 2 separate kinds. Don't rethink the gift just give it, but I would Def include gift receipts for bathing suits... You never know how they run!!!

I would ditch the bathing suits and get some sun block, and maybe pail and shovels or something like that for the beach.

I don't see what is weird about this. A teeny little bikini might be a bit weird but otherwise I think this is a great gift and I would be really happy that my kid got that stuff LOL

What exactly is weird about it???  I think it's an adorable themed gift. If someone gave me that same gift for my 2 1/2 yr. old DD I would be thrilled. I think it's adorable and I wouldn't hesitate to give the gift just exactly as it is. 
ita. I must be missing something. I don't see why a bathing suit would be a weird gift. It would be weird if you were giving the girls underwear, but a bathing suit? I think that's an awesome addition to that fun present. At my baby shower somebody gave me a baby bathing suit for a 3-6 month old since that's how old she'll be this summer and I thought it was a pretty creative gift. It didn't even cross my mind to be weirded out by it. Besides, if they don't like it you said you were including the gift receipt. i think it's fine the way it is

you can go to old navy this weekend and get flip flops too if you wanted... they are on sale for a dollar!

I love it although with girls i would steer clear of a bikini - I know some people don't like their little girls in bikinis regardless of age/coverage/lack of anything to cover. My Ds bday is next week and i just had someone ask what to get him. I had no input at all bc between him & my older 2, they already have many toys. the Mom asked about a bathing suit which i would have loved except i literally have 15 bathing suits in size 5T (dont ask!)
I would give it and not overthink it.
