is there a protocal for daycare teachers and being sick?
I just picked ds up from dc. His one teacher was sitting in the rocker with her son sleeping on her and she looked like all she needed was dirt thrown on her. Moaning. I asked what was wrong and she said " we are so so so sick and going home". So why the F did you come in? Now im not typically this mom, but geez you work with kids all day long they are germy why woukd you risk getting them sick and you sicker?
So, back to my question is this a normal dc thing. This is firsg time dealing with dc so im clueless.

Yeah Im pi$$ed at mine too. One of the asst teachers told me Wed tht they made her come in because someone else was sick....guess what... My Son got sick on Saturday with the stomach bug that the teacher had!!! then guess what.. i got it and missed two days of work!!
Im soooo angry about this...why force the teacher to come in when you know she is sick!!

Because most dc have just enough teachers to operate with maybe one or two floaters. You can see what issues come to play if more than one teacher calls in.

I know when I worked in a nursery school that it was typical for teachers to come in sick and bring their sick kids with them. I got sick more then once like that. I quit after the first year. When I got sick, I stayed home...

I've noticed alot of teachers at my daycare have had colds over the last few weeks. At first it annoyed me, but I guess I can't expect them to call out sick for every little sniffle- they would never have people there to watch the kids! A stomach big would upset me though.
