Do I "tip" the daycare teachers???
Ava will be moving out of the "Twaddler" class and into "Nursery".
Is it appropriate to give cash? I love the head teacher and was thinking of giving $100. I do not care for the assistant, do I need to do the same for her??
If cash is not appropriate, what is???

I think cash isn't the right message but a gift card to like Starbucks would be nice.

I was thinking of giving cash also. I just feel like the teachers are not terribly well paid and can use the money. I was thinking about $50 though. Maybe $100 is more appropriate?

I used to work in a daycare. CASH IS KING and greatly appreciated, how many starbucks/panera bread gc can one get!

As far as the ast. maybe get her a smaller amount gift card, whether you like her or not- she still took care of your child all year...

I gave an American Express gift card to my DD's teachers this year. It's the same as cash, and can be used like a credit card. If you know someone with a Commerce bank account, they have Visa check gift cards without any purchasing fee, which are really nice. I have a Commerce account just so I can get people gift cards. I would give the assistant something, you never know if she will work with your DC again, and she did take care of your child all year. D
