Is it REALLY necessary
Baby laundry soap.... I understand the concept but i use regular stuff on my clothes and then hold dc and dc can nap on me.
Baby dish soap.... How is it different than other stuff and what makes it safer for bottles? Assuming i clean everything properly

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
I am not sure but I would personally not use dish detergent with antibacterial on a baby's item. I would use dawn or palmolive without antibacterial or the baby one.

I use all free and clear which I heard is actually better than dreft because it does not have perfume. I also use the blue dawn on all of our stuff.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
I never used baby dish soap. It never occurred to me that I should. I just used whatever I had.
I used Dreft and/or free & clear and still do. On occasion, if I'm out of the dreft or f&c I will use whatever I have and he has survived.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
I use regular dish soap to wash the bottles. I use different detergent for the baby's clothes, one without fragrance. Not sure if it's necessary, but someone bought me the detergent so that's what I've been using.

We use baby laundry soap if its on sale or we use free and clear. I always used regular dish soap and hand washed bottles.
Eta: I didn't know they made baby dish soap.

We use All Free and Clear for everyone. I didn't know they even made baby dish soap. I just by the regular one, we don't use anti-bacterial soap.

Like everyone else, I never knew about baby dish soap!
I never used dreft. I always get detergent that's free and clear, same with dish soap. But even when I've used tide or something for the clothes, we've survived just fine.

We use Tide Free and Clear for all of our laundry - it is necessary to use something gentle for baby's skin. We use babyganics dish soap. The baby dish soap is better than regular dish soap IMO at getting BM residue out of bottles and pump parts and doesn't have any kind of aftertaste.

For clothes we use all free & clear, when they were newborns I would use seventh generation free & clear. For dish soap we use seventh generation or trader joe's.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
I never buy antibacterial soaps. My dr told me long ago that too much of that soap and hand sanitizer isn't good so I just buy Palmolive free & clear dish soap. I buy dreft sometimes when I have coupons but generally we use all free & clear. I do use a little fabric softener because I can't stand the way the clothes feel without it.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
I used regular soap for both my kids. As for detergent, I bought one big container with each DS. When that container was done, I started washing in our normal detergent.

I didn't use "baby" stuff with either kid...i washed there clothes separately from my husbands and mine but used the same detergent. My DH is actually allergic to Dreft so i didn't want to take the chance with the kids

I never used anything special. All Free and Clear for laundry detergent and whatever I was using for everything else in the house before I had kids. Baby specific soaps and detergents are such a waste of $$$$ IMO.

Re: Is it REALLY necessary
We use free and clear detergent, the baby stuff has tons of perfumes in it. The smell made me choke I can't imagine how a baby could stand it. I also used and still use the baby ganics brand dish soap for all DS's stuff and will do the same for this baby.
