Is anyone else NOT sharing their baby names?

People keep asking me what we plan to name the baby, now that we know it's a ...
but I really don't feel like sharing. That's doubly true if the person is pregnant.

Anyone else keeping their name a secret?

Once we finally settle on a name for little boy, we will not tell anyone. We'll keep it to ourselves until he is born. I am not interested in others' comments about the name.

I would keep it a secret if the name is really unique and you don't want anyone else stealing it. Hehe!

Or if you don't want to hear other people's opinion about your choice.

I'm sharing mine just 'cus it's a common name and I really don't care about anyone but DH's opinion.

don't tell anyone!!!!! even if you know you are the only one having a baby!! The name DH and I chose was not common, and someone close to the family named a pet a couple of months after we told everyone. so pizzed!! we are keeping the name , but it's not the same

We didn't share the first time around. We won't share this time either. No room for anyone's opinions! Also, we wound up changing our pick for a girl's middle name (we didn't find out what we were having) shortly before DDs were born.

We are not. NO ONE is being told. Even the lady in the Maternity store asked me and I would not tell.

We feel it's no one's business until the baby is born, that it's just for us. Also, we don't want comments or anyone in the family using it either.

we are not telling the baby's name to anyone... our close family knows what his initials are, because they are significant to our family, but that is it. they will find out what his name is after he arrives.

What also bothers me is when I tell people that I won't share the name, they BADGER me about why and that they should be able to hear the name.

I said i wasnt going to tell but im not good at secrets .. i already told family what names we were thinking. Im such a bone head.

US, To many people have to many opinions. I have just told the middle name, as it is my last grandpas. After that they can wait until Jan.

We aren't sharing Ed-lie's name. Everyone in our lives already knows too much. Her name is the one thing we have left that is ours.

If you wanna talk about the nerve of people, I've got one for you. As most of you know, we lost my mother just a little over 3 months ago. At her funeral, just after we put dirt on her grave at the cemetery, a loud mouth member of my family came right up to me (mind you I was red faced and hysterical) and told me that I MUST name my child for my mother - that it was the right thing to do. Gee can I have a few minutes to process the fact that NEITHER ONE of my parents are alive to see my child and we just buried my father three years ago? Thanks lady. I appreciate the sensitivity. It is not like I am a child and I do not know how to honor people.

i CANT STAND that anytime i stick up for myself (which i happen to be a pretty loud and unafraid to speak up girl anyway) that now all of a sudden, its because im freakin pregnant and hormonal...it makes me wanna strangle someone when they say this..
its like telling a crazy person theyre crazy...you just dont do it

We're definitely not only with parents and grandparents..thats it!!!!!! Everyone asks me and I say we're still thinking it over!!!!

We've shared with everyone from day one when we were just thinking about names...but I completely understand and support both sides.

I can't keep my mouth shut, and don't really care what other people think, so if somebody didn't like a name and we loved it, it didn't bother me. So far people love the name we chose, but I've gotten a lot of comments on spelling. (We're spelling her name Lilah and people seem to want us to spell it Lila)

I had a friend who didn't share with anyone. They had her daughter's name up over the crib and would even cover it with a sheet when their cleaning lady came over. I never ever pushed her. I respect people's choices 100% and that was her choice to make

We usually don't share (not that we have a name yet) but mostly because we're last minute deciders, like when the baby is actually born.

We really haven't decided what we are doing yet.

I already know the girl name I want if we have a girl, and I may tell the person who's parents she would be named after ahead of time.

I'm fairly certain though for either a boy or girl, we need to discuss with the parents the hebrew names. We are the last ones in the family to have kids and it's tradition in the Jewish religion to name a child after a deceased realative. However we really don't have that many choices since most of the names are already taken by nephew's and little cousins.

We're only sharing "ideas" I think we've decided on a name for our but we're keeping it to ourselves!

Im not keeping it a secret the only person I would really care about stealing the name would be my sister or my best friend but they would never do that.
