Is anyone else disturbed by Sadaam death being broadcasted on TV?

I am so nauseous when I put on the tv and saw him walking in to be executed, the rope etc. Am I the only one? I am not heavily into politics etc, but this I find very disturbing and I am avoiding CNN, etc, becuase it makes me nauseous to see this. Yes, he was executed, watching it makes me nauseous.

I havn't watch it yet but CNN kept stressing the fact that they will warn veiwers what they are going to see.

I don't think they actually showed the hanging process (the part with him dieing)

I hope I can avoid watching it. I know many people will out of curiosity, but it will probably be everywhere and hard to avoid.

it (the actual hanging before process) doesnt disturb me. what disturbs me is watching all the cameras flash and it makes me think, my god what has the media turned into. and then i think of the flip side.

ETA- what i saw was on the internet, i dont have a TV, i've just seen the feed from CNN.

the article on Yahoo shows the noose being put around his neck, but that's about it.

sorry, but he did far worse to many other people, so it doesn't really bother me.

yes, it really bothered me seeing him walking to the box and having the noose around his neck. also saw his dead body covered w/ a white cloth after. it really made me sick to my stomach.

The media...less then a hundred years ago in this country whole towns would turn out for a public hanging...so the media is just giving what so many want to see

fair enough. i am just thinking "a la natural born killers" and how the media has turned this into a circus. it is more of a larger scale, that is what i think.

It does not bother me. I think that they are trying to make an example out of him. His capture and this war are highly televised events so it only makes sense that his excecution would be as well.

Besides, for the heinous crimes that man committed durning his awful reign in power...He deserved so much more.

As i posted on another thread, im against capital punishment (but im sure that would change if something DIRECTLY happened to me or my family). I wish he had to rot in jail for the rest of his life

I am totally opposed to capital punishment so I find it barbaric that it would be broadcasted. And no matter how horrible someone is, for ppl to be celebrating in the streets leaves me queasy.

I'm squeamish, so I probably wouldn't watch it. Even seeing the noose going around his neck makes me cringe. However, it's not b/c I'm opposed to the hanging...I just have a weak stomach!

SOB deserved to die. I'm not disturbed by it or freaked out. He should have been executed a long time ago. There was no need for a trial.

If it makes you feel bad just think of all the people that had to watch their family members raped, tortured, and then murdered because of him. You reap what you sow! He deserves that and moreChat Icon

I totally agree. I think Nelson Mandela is such a role model. When he became president of South Africa, he could have gone after all the past leaders and tried them. Instead, he pushed for truth and peace. South Africa could easily have gone the way of war and bloodshed yet with his message of peace and hope, it didn't. I think we can all learn from that.
