Of getting pregnant?
Of being pregnant?
Of telling people you're pregnant? (they'll KNOW you had sex! Jig is up!)
Of giving birth?
Of having your life completely change?

The more we talk about it, the bigger the pickle I $h!t.

Re: Is anyone else completely and utterly scared?

Of getting pregnant? yes but excited

Of being pregnant?hmmm..kind of excited to see what it is like but of course nervous an hopeful everything does smoothly

Of telling people you're pregnant? (they'll KNOW you had sex! Jig is up!) hahaha true, but not really--I think it will be so fun to tell our parents and siblings and friends!

Of giving birth? if I let myself think about it yes, but then I think my mom did it, my MIL did it, a ot of women I know did it, if they can do it, I can do it!

Of having your life completely change? yes, but I feel like we have been really preparing ourselves.

We are not TTC until Jan, at that point we will be 29. My SIL who is 20 was like "but won't you miss going out, partying, your freedom etc"...and if I was 23,24,25,26,27 YES I would have! But I am, WE are ready. We did it. We lived it up, we traveled, we enjoyed 2 yrs (at the time of ttc) married. We are ready to start a family, for the next step. I am not delusional and I am sure there will be sacrafices, our lifestyle will change, but it is something we both want and are going into with eyes wide open

ETA: I think the fear might set in when I get (god willing Chat Icon ) my BFP

Out of all the Q's this freaks me out the most. I come from a VERY, VERY conservative background. Procreation is wonderful but then umm.. yea! Chat Icon

The first few times we visited my parents after marriage, I was so embarrsed to have him in my room. Chat Icon

Of getting pregnant? No.......but I am scared of NOT getting preggo Chat Icon Chat Icon

Of being pregnant? ummm...not sure, its always been everyone else being all grown up & mature enough to reproduce. I've always been the "young one" (mind you I am 33) so I cant believe or conceive that its my turn Chat Icon Chat Icon I am a little worried of getting huge and having an unhealthy pregnancy

Of telling people you're pregnant? (they'll KNOW you had sex! Of giving birth? I just cant....I just cant EVEN imagine!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Of having your life completely change? see on this it depends, I have some days where I am reflective and feel that (aside from travel) I have done everything that I want for myself. I still have a list of personal goals but none of them will be hindered by a child, only my own personal laziness. Then some days I complain when my dog wakes me up b/c she is hungry or has to piddle. So I guess yeah I'm nervous about that but then again I'm also nervous that I am going to do to my kids what my parents did to me. I think in the long run a child is a gift and if I am blessed with this gift than I am going to have to take each day step by step.

Thank you for posting this!

I'm terrified.

I don't want my body to change. I don't want to go through the pain of childbirth. And I'm not sure how I'm going to handle my life completely changing. I like my life. I like my sleep. I like my date nights with DH. I like my romantic vacations. I like having a few too many on a Saturday night and sleeping until Sunday afternoon.

All that being said, I know I want to be a mom. I know this is the right time. And I know we'll be great parents.

And I thought I was the only crazy one! I always think about how I'll feel secretly embarrassed when I tell my parents. It's like when I announce, "I'm pregnant," I'm really announcing, "I had sex!"

Re: Is anyone else completely and utterly scared?

Yes even as a BTDT I'm scared! I had a absolutely terrible pregnancy something for the books, my experience telling family was less then happy (not quite sure why since we were married and in love don't get me started on this topic) my emergency section.. Was convinced I was dieing and was 100% sure I wasn't going home (if your scared... Don't read my birth story). As far as my life changing I know the first 6 month what I'm in for this time it will be hell and miserable then the good stuff take over that I can't wait for and my dd looooves babies and is really great with them so I can't wait to see them together!

Re: Is anyone else completely and utterly scared?

yes Chat Icon

this is why we keep procrastinating and putting off trying! first it was june, then sept, now dec hahahaha!

i am happy to say that i started my last cycle of BCPs though - so after this month i will be BC free Chat Icon Chat Icon and i am going to start taking prenatals when i get my period...we are going to be careful since doc said it's best to wait 3 months but i think we'll stop being careful in in Nov/Dec and take it from there...

we also just got our second car, finished up a lot of things around the house, DH got a promotion he was hoping for - so everything we were waiting for is starting to fall into place...

but i am still scared....scared of becoming pregnant right away and not being prepared, scared of not getting pregnant right away and what if there is a problem, scared of how my body will change, scared for the health of baby, scared of giving birth, scared of being home with an infant alone when my DH goes back to work, scared of saving for this LO's college fund Chat Icon the worry list goes on and on and on!

but there are so many things i am looking foward to, we talk about it all the time and i know that eventually we have to either sh!t or get off the pot Chat Icon

Of getting pregnant? - No, BTDT just worried it will take longer than the first time!
Of being pregnant? - No, missed it after giving birth to DD
Of telling people you're pregnant? - Can't wait to tell people lol Especially my job so I can plan maternity leave!
Of giving birth? - Maybe this, DD's birth was great, hoping it can be just like that.
Of having your life completely change? - YES, it's changed so much already I am a little afraid of how it will be with 2!

Re: Is anyone else completely and utterly scared?

Of getting pregnant? more so that we wont get pregnant :(
Of being pregnant? just scared of getting fat
Of telling people you're pregnant? no, but we will wait until we are in the clear (they'll KNOW you had sex! Jig is up!) Well obviously! I'm pretty sure people know we have sex since we are married.
Of giving birth? OH HELL YES! Terrified of the taring and pooping part.
Of having your life completely change? A little. It will be exciting, but I know it will mean less dinners out, less us time and we will always have to think of the baby before making decisions, going places, etc.

Re: Is anyone else completely and utterly scared?

This is my first post here and while we're not "officially" TTC, I would like to think we'll try soon (I'm the one holding it up). With that said, I'm most scared of the financial burden of having children. And things like, who'll watch the baby while we're at work, etc.

Re: Is anyone else completely and utterly scared?

Honestly, I am not Chat Icon I mean, if you mean scared in the sense of something going wrong during pregnancy or after then yes, arent we all? But if you mean just the fact of bring pregnant, then no. I am also not scared of telling people..I actually can not wait! The only person I dont look forward to in telling is my boss...only becaue it would be awkward. I am a bit scared of the giving birth part Chat Icon but Im sure many of you will agree with me on that one. Other than that, not really scared...

Of getting pregnant? -have a dd already cant wait for #2

Of being pregnant? cant wait to have a big budha belly. i love feeling this big round mound. its awesome

Of telling people you're pregnant? - Can't wait to tell people

Of giving birth? i had a long birth and even after having a long hard birth i still said like 5 mins later that i would do it again. now that i know what to expect, i feel more confident. i used a midwife and delivered out of a hospital. i WISH HOPE AND PRAY that everything will be the same the 2nd time around

Of having your life completely change? - dd#1 was a little bit of a surprise and i was freaked out! as soon as she was in my arms, i couldnt imagine life without her. your life changes for the better.
and i cant wait to welcome another child into this world. now that i have a child, i know what a blessing it is and how much a child can enrich your life.

oh i love kids!! i hope to have 3 some day!
