Inconsistent movement

Anyone else have this and find it totally maddening? I find myself so anxious all the time bc I go so long without feeling anything or doubt the things I do feel as really being the baby. I finally had stronger movement a few days ago and now (17 weeks) I haven't had it for a few days. I feel small things at times but just want to feel definite movement consistently! It's seriously making me a crazy person!

I think that is pretty normal at that stage. I wasn't feeling more consistent movement until about 20 weeks. I also feel like I wasn't as aware of the movement with dc #2 and now #3 because I was/am so busy with the other kid(s).

I didn't have consistent movement until the late 20's.

I totally understand wanting to feel consistent movement, but I agree that at this stage, it's just still too early for it. I only started feeling any movement at all at 17 weeks. I'm 19 weeks now at it's still light and inconsistent. Don't worry, those strong kicks and sucker punches are right around the corner, lol!

Thanks. No matter how many times I read that it's normal I still can't get myself to relax. I don't know why.

Yeah, I'm 19 weeks and it is def not constant, absolutely stronger when I feel it, but not constant. I'm guessing it won't be for another few weeks, but I have lots of extra padding there.

I agree that at 17 weeks it is completely normal to not feel consistent movement. It's early to feel movement at all, so take it as a great sign that baby is strong!

You can't relax about it because you are growing a life and everything about it is nerve wracking! Again, totally normal! Chat Icon
