Unfrigginbelievable..... Considering that studies have shown that it is UNKNOWN how much alchohol is needed to cause fetal alchohol syndrome (as everyone processes alchohol differently), she is extremely selfish and STUPID for planning on getting drunk at her BP...

I'm sorry that they called you and treated you that way When all is said and done, you do not need toxic people in your life...better off without them. Yes, you may have been friends for a long time, but people change and obviously she has changed into someone who you don't have a lot in common with anymore - at least in the way you see things. Good riddance

I am so sorry you had to go through this.
I'm proud of you for standing up for what you believe in. It is said that people come into your life for a reason. Even though it was for 13 years and it seems to be ending on a bad note, it happened for a reason. Maybe it's because you realized she was treating you so horribly and you grew into the strong woman that you are because of it. If she's used you in the past and then disappeared when you went through major events in your life but then expected you to be around for her it sounds like she was using you again, probably to have you drive her drunken childish friends at her party. You are a much bigger and better woman then her.

I cannot believe that they would call you up and that her DH would curse you out. He's ignorant too. I understand how you feel with losing a friendship of so many years. I think things are better off this way.

so glad u stood your ground. u would feel so guilty godforbid something would be wrong once the baby was born. she could still have a good time w2ithout drinking. if she can't see what a caring friend u r, then its her loss

From reading this and your previous posts, all I can say is you put up with this person a lot longer than most people would have.

These are people who thrive on drama. If she was fine with her life and her decisions, they would have just said, "screw Marissa, we'll go without her." The fact that they had to call and harass you just shows that they are getting off on the drama, IMO.

I admit to being one of those people who finds nothing wrong with having the occasional glass of wine, but getting drunk and doing shots is just outrageous!!!
I'm glad you stood your ground and if your "friendship" is over because of it, well then she wasn't much of a friend to begin with.
It's obvious that this girl is not ready to have a child and I would just about guarantee the reason everyone is so defensive and jumping down your throat right now is because they know you're right. And rather than stand up for what's right, it's easier for them to defend their choices.

ETS- I'm pretty sure most bartenders would serve a pregnant lady without thinking too much of it because they serve me. When DH and I go out for a nice dinner we will get a bottle of wine and they will ALWAYS pour me a glass without so much as a comment or funny look. They will usually go to fill my glass and I will have to stop them. And I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have been visibly pregnant for quite some time.
