I'm home with pics!
Hey ladies! I missed you all so much! My story is not very long since it was a scheduled c/s, but here it is anyway.....
We woke up at 4:30am on Friday, left the house at 5, dropped Genevieve off and checked in at the hospital by 5:45am. We got into my room, I got hooked up to the IV, and soon after that, I was walked down into the Recovery Room where we met with the anesthesiologist and nurse that would be assisting my doctor. The anesthesiologist was the GREATEST! I told him what happened to me after my daughter's c/s (the epi machine locked up and I had no pain meds) and he was so good to me after hearing that! He watched my b/p and gave me stuff to counteract it dropping, which in turn, kept away any nausea (which I had plenty of with my daughter) and he was just so good!!!!! He gave me a shot of Penthanol during the procedure b/c all of a sudden, I was able to feel alot of sensation around my rib cage (not pain though). I really liked that shot, b/c it made me feel so sleepy, not loopy, just sleepy and relaxed. Afterwards, he gave me another shot for nausea, and stayed with me in recovery for 25 minutes until I was on a regular drip and told me if I needed him he would be back within 2 minutes! I was most scared of immediately following b/c of my experience with my daughter and the a-hole guy I had, but this was the best experience EVER!
Anyway, William Peter was born at 8:12am, weighing in at 7lbs, 15 oz and 20 inches. We werent expecting him to be that size for 10 days early, so I was so happy! He started screaming before the rest of his body was out, so they had to suction him out before even really delivering him! Thn, my husband got an anatomy lesson from my doctor and got to learn what every single organ that was open to view was [8-|]
I got back into my room around 10 or 10:30. I wanted to get up and walk around sometime that day, but they wouldnt let me. I felt so good and cant stand being stuck in bed. But I had to follow orders, so I didnt get out of bed until Saturday morning and I felt fine getting right up and walking. No pain or anything.
So, as scared as I was, I had all the right people this time around working on me and everything was GREAT!
My little piggy is doing wonderful. He is BF and latched on to me thru my robe is recovery!!!! He was STARVING, so he has had no trouble! I was exclusively BF'ing, and since my milk didnt come in until late last night, and he was lethargic from the circumcision, he lost 8 oz! BUT, he was already up by 2 this morning, so its not really a concern. We didnt give him any formula, so we expected it. I have been having KILLER contractions from nursing - they actually feel worse than what I can remember from my labor with Genevieve before getting the epi. But its all worth it and my stomach is almost back to its regular size from them! The dr. told me wether or not I BF, they will get worse with each child after delivery as my uterus contracts back to its regular size.
Genevieve is being such a great older sister and is adjusting very well! I opted to come home today instead of tomorrow b/c I missed her way too much! I took so many pics and I know my sister already posted some, but I'm a proud mommy, so here they are: (I took pictures of him today in his homecoming outfit, but it's been too hectic and I havent gotten them on the comp yet)

Congrats he's adorable and you looks BEAUTIFUL!! Do you remember the anesthesiologists name?? The guy I had at St Catherines was fantastic, his first name was Lance.

He is beautiful. Congratulations. Did you deliver at St. Catherines in Smithtown? I am going to deliver via sceduled c-sectiion there too in April. SOunds like you had a wonderful experience with them.

Yeah, the anesthesiologists name was Dr Weiss. I had Dr. Bonanno for my daughter's, and while I thought he was good at the time, he didnt COMPARE to Weiss.....
