I'm going right to hell, aren't I? UPDATED...blech!
I am petrified of bees.
A little while ago I was putting my 3.5 year old to bed and as I was closing her shade, there was a large bee just sitting there on top of her windowsill.
I quickly closed the shade, not even attempting to kill it or get it out. I kissed her goodnight, turned on her CD and got the hell out of there! 
I figured bees only sting if they're being harassed, right?? Right??? I thought the alternative...me freaking out, probably screaming and, in the end, not even killing it...would be a ton worse. Right?  Oh yeah, and the DH isn't home, as you've guessed.
No sooner do I walk down the hall than I hear blood-curdling screaming coming from her room. Freaking, I ran back in to find out that I put on the wrong CD!  Dramatic, much? 
I couldn't find the one she wanted, convinced her to listen to the one in the radio and again...got the hell out!
I'm going right to mommy hell...aren't I? 
UPDATE
So, after posting the story, the guilt overwhelmed me and I thought, "What kind of a piece of s#$% am I??" So I poured a large glass of wine...enjoyed it...
And then tiptoed upstairs, woke up my DD gently and told her I had to vacuum "something" on her window. After two tries I got that MF!! HA!
And now, I'm on my 2nd glass of wine! Hurray Erin!!

Ooh, that's a tough one. I'm petrified of bees as well. My first thought was, call your DH!!! But as you said, he isn't home.
I'm not sure what I would have done...  Aren't I a big help??

I'm terrified of bees too.
So is the bee still in her room?
This has happened in DD's room and I personally wouldn't let her sleep with a bee lingering around. I was too worried about her being stung when the thing starts buzzing as the sun comes up.

I agree. I would do anything to kill that bee. When I was pg I found two in my house and smashed the hell out of them, while screaming my head off, I could never hang out in my house if there is a bee in it.

I hate bees, too. I couple have strayed into our house...and I grab my vacuum, put on the house attachment and vacuum that buzzy intruder right up...no guilt!
I would be nervous to let my DC sleep in the room with a bee flying around. It freaks me out to think about spider crawling around...but a bee...no way!

ITA! I am petrified AND allergic of/to bees. I don't think I'd be comfy letting it fly around with DS in there at all.
What I would do, is, open the window, pop out the screen and try to let it out...if it doesn't leave, then shut the window and trap the bee (LOCK the window too) until DH got home.

I would spray it with something like windex (or the like) first. I windex the spiders, bees and other bugs I find in my house, then I swat them!
