I'm devestated
So tonight DH and I went to have a consultation with A new RE at LI IVF. After reviewing my records he basically concluded that at some point I did have PCOS (which is what my dr at RSNY has been telling me all along I have) but feels strongly based on my low testosterone and AMH/FSH numbers that I truly have Diminished Ovarian Reserve. I am doing an IUI for this cycle but if this doesn't work he wants to move immediately to IVF. I feel so disheartened and upset. I feel like the rug got pulled out from under me and that my chances/hopes of ever getting pregnant again are so slim. He didn't say that directly but did tell me I was lucky I got pregnant with DS who is 2.
I want to hear the good and bad from anyone who has DOR or poor egg quality. Thank you!

I'm devestated
So sorry you are upset.
I also have low AMH and the RE I was seeing at that time told me "IVF is the only way". This was a week or so after I met her, I was so new to the IF journey and hearing that statement freaked me out. I never went back.
After some help from some girls on the board, I started increasing my vitamins, I cut out gluten and caffeine. And I am 5w5d pregnant after a completely natural cycle.
There is hope!! Good luck! Don't be discouraged!!!

Thank you for the support. This does make me feel better. My RE is suggesting we jump to IVF too and it is freaking me out. I'm going to see an accupuncturist and hopefully they can help me out. I really am overwhelmed and don't know what the right decision is. I trust my dr but am scared of going straight to IVF
How long did you try before you finally got pregnant?

Re: I'm devestated
I have DOR. I went thru it all same as you. Did 7 IUI then they said move to IVF(3). It was hard and i felt like I was slammed up against the wall and the wind knocked out of me. All you need is one good egg. Diminished is better than none. For me the road was a bit bumpier and 1 egg later I have a 1 year old right now. FM if you want. Keep the hope.

Re: I'm devestated
I also have low amh. I have been increasing vitamins, taking certain supplements, acupuncture and went completely gluten free. Studies show that girls with endo often have unreliable tests so I'm not 100% positive that its correct. Maybe it's denial but I refuse to live my life by a bunch of estimated numbers. So far I have had three chemicals which sucks but my acu thinks it means we are on the right path. I am going for IVF in the winter if these IUI's do not work. I recommend for you to research as much as possible! You really feel empowered knowing more about your body.

Re: I'm devestated
I have an AMH of .03!!!! My RE was never anything but positive. I am now 33 weeks pregnant with baby number 2, via IUI 4. I am a strong believer in dietary change, vitamins and acupuncture.

I had my 3rd loss in February and took some time off. We got our BFP the first cycle we tried again. So far, all looks good! Feel free to FM!

I'm devestated
I have poor egg quality and was told I should go right to IVF. That was a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant with my DS naturally.
I would def not give up hope.

I'm devestated
Thank you all for your support. I feel much better today. Still not thrilled over the news of having DOR, but at least I know it's not the end of my chances to be a Mommy again.
If anyone of you can FM or tell me what types of vitamins you increased on, etc...anything I can do holistically to help me that would be great! I made an appointment to see a family friend who is an accupunturist in RVC for next week. I am hoping this is the first step in helping to improve my egg quality. Please keep the info coming...I need as much as possible.

Re: I'm devestated
When it was discovered I had low AMH and learned about my severe egg quality issues (via IVF) I went on:
Maxi Greens Maxi Antioxidants Royal jelly I was also on Dexamethazone
Not sure any of it helped though but can never hurt to try.

What is Maxi Green, Maxi Antioxidants, Royal Jelly?? Are they vitamins/supplements? Also, why those in particular?

The first two are vitamins and royal jelly is a supplement. The viatmins were suggested by my RE at the time, to help improve the environment the egg was growing in (reduced free radicals, etc). The royal jelly was added by me upon doing my own research. If you research these things yourself you can find lots of info out there on the use off various supplements/vitamins.

Re: I'm devestated
Do you take all of those in addition to your prenatal vits?
