I am having a hard time getting the babies down for their second nap they play and play and play and then only sleep like 15-20 minutes.

if your dc still takes 2 naps what is their schedule like? what time do they wake up in am and go to bed at night and what time are their naps.

I was thinking I was putting them down too late for their first nap but I tried earlier today and they played for over an hour and then finally went to sleep (at their normal nap time)

They sleep 6:30-6:30 and I was putting them down at 10:30 and 3 ish? is the first nap too late?

DD has made her own schedule and it usually goes like this

645am wake up

1030ish nap for 30 mins

anywhere between 2-4pm nap #2, usually lasts about an hour

Bedtime is anywhere between 8-9 depending on the day and how tired DD is. There is NO making her sleep if she's not ready.

DS is almost 19 months and his sleep is:

9pm-9am, sometime wakes as late as 10 or 11am

Nap 3 hours after waking up- usually @ 12, sleeps for 2-3 hours

Late nap at @ 5/5:30pm- sleeps for @ an hour

First Nap: 9:00-9:30
Second Nap: 1:30
Bed: 7:30

My DS is 12.5 months.
He wakes up at 7:30a
1st nap 10:30-12:30
2nd nap 3:30 (or 4:15 depending on sisters' schedules)-5:30
Bed 7:30p

I think your twins might be around my son's age; if so, they may be getting ready to reduce to one nap soon...

DD naps twice a day (10.5 months) but the afternoon nap is tough—always has been. She wakes up around 7am. Goes down for her first nap at 10. This is usually 1-2 hours, usually 1 1/2. Depending on her wakeup time, the 2nd nap is sometime around 2 or 3. Sometimes she goes right out. Or, lays in her crib for a while playing and "talking" until she drifts off for 1-1 1/2 hours. But some days, she wants nothing to do with it. I just keep trying though because I don't think she's ready for one nap. After 3 hours of being awake, she definitely gets tired!

DDs take 2 naps. They are 7 months.

They go to bed at 6:30 wake up between 5:15 and 5:45. They go down for their first nap at 9. Sleep between 1-2 hours. They go down for their second nap between 1 and 2 and sleep about an hour.

I switched DS to 1 afternoon nap a day at 18 months. It was a disaster initially. But once it worked itself out, he started taking 2.5-3 hour naps. Now at (almost) 3.5 he still takes that afternoon nap. It's about 1-2 hours.

My DD is 14 months.

She generally sleeps from 7pm - 7 am

Her first nap begins around 9:30 and lasts anywhere from an hour to and hour and a half.

Her second nap begins around 2pm and it's the same - lasts an hour to an hour and a half.

At her age, I'm waiting for signs that she's ready to drop a nap. So far, she's still napping pretty regularly and not fighting her bedtime.
