If you were induced, how long was your labor?

I have an induction scheduled tentatively at 39 weeks.

eta: I delivered DS#1 at 39 weeks. I was 2cm dilated at 80% effaced at 38 weeks. I started labor naturally but because my labor was not progressing fast enough, I was induced. After I was induced, I think DS was born about 4 hours later.

At 36.5 weeks pregnant, I'm currently 1cm dilated already.

With DD, They put the cervadil in on Sunday night, started pitocin Monday morning, shut it down Monday night, started it back up again Tuesday morning, broke my water and I deliver DD Tuesday at 7:15 PM. Fun.

With DS, no cervadil. Started Pitocin Monday morning, delivered DS 10 PM Monday night.

I was induced at 40 weeks, 2 days. I went in around 6:30 a.m. - 7 a.m., They started pitocin I would say by 8 a.m. I delivered at 5:49 p.m. after pushing one hour. This was my first baby and he was sunny-side up (I forget what you call that...).

Good luck!

ETA: I was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced as of the night before.

Induced with cervadil around 8:30pm, started contracting within two hours or so, water broke at 5-something and delivered her by 9:26 am. The whole process seemed to go rather quickly.

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

I walked in to my induction 3cm dilated and like 100% effaced. They started pitocin, after 10 hours I was ready to push. Pushed for 3 hours, then opted for a c-section because DS was sunny side up.

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

Started with a balloon catheter over night to make me dilate. By the morning I was 3-4cm and they broke my water (7am) and started me on a very little bit of pitocin. Had the epidural at 11am at 5cm. Was fully dilated and ready to push by 2pm. I was also 6 days past my due date at that point.

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

Went in at 7am, 3cm dialated, 75% effaced.
Pitocin was started at 8am
My doctor left his office across the street from the hospital at 5:30
DD was born at 5:47 that evening

Very little overtime needed for my doctor. Chat Icon

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

Induced just shy of 39 weeks due to blood pressure. I was maybe 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced.

Started Cervadil at 4pm on Thursday. Small contractions after about 3 hours. Another Cervadil around 6am Friday. Hard contractions started shortly thereafter. Had some pain meds - stadol, which took the edge off a bit. Pitocin around 2pm, they broke my water around 4:45pm - Got the epidural at some point after that - don't really remember! DD born 10:31pm Friday - after about 30min of pushing.

It was long - but worth it and I was happy I didn't need the c-section.

Exactly 12 hours from start to finish and slept through most of it. Induced @ 37 wks with first child, zero dilation or effacement and delivered vaginally.

I had a GREAT induction experience!

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

Induced at 41w6d, 14.5 hours total, with 2 hours of that pushing (DD was sunny side up and stuck but we managed to get her out). Was 50% effaced and 1-2 cm before we began the induction, which was just pitocin.

I was induced with pitocin only between 8 and 9 am. DS was born at 9:10pm after 20 minutes of pushing.

ETA - I was 40w4d and maybe 2cm dilated.

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

First DD it was 11 hours--no cervadil. Stripped membranes and then pitocin.

Second DD stripped membranes, walked around for 2 hours, started pitocin and DD was born 4 hours later.

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

26 hours.

Two rounds of Cervadil starting at 10am.
Broke my water at 2am
Pitocin at 3:30am
Fully effaced and 10 cm dialated at around 10am.
Dr. gave baby 1-2 hours before he was coming in and doing a C-section.
Baby never dropped. I should have known then she was going to be stubborn.

C-Section - Morgan was born at 12:12pm.

In all around 26 hours! Chat Icon

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

induced at 41w2d. had ZERO progress-- not effaced, no dilation.

cervadil at 10pm thursday; pitocin at 11am friday; epidural at 3pm friday; they broke my water around 7 or 8pm; at 10cm by 10pm; started pushing at 11; dd born at 11:34 pm friday.

Re: If you were induced, how long was your labor?

I guess you can technically say I was induced. My water broke and contractions never started after almost 24 hours, so I was given pitocin.

Started pitocin around 7am
Never progressed passed 2cm
DD was born 7:31 pm c-section

So I guess about 12 1/2 hours

Same. Never progressed beyond 3 cm and I developed a fever so DS's heartbeat started increasing, so they delivered via c-section.
