if you have hardwood floors....

throughout your house -

is anyone else like me and prefers carpeting in the bedrooms?

i just feel like it makes the room cozier and warmer - and in old houses like mine, the dust on the HW floors drives me nuts!

we bought our house 6 years ago and put all new HW floors in because the old ones were destroyed. My DH never wanted to put any carpeting down so we have area rugs throughout the house in some places, but now I would really like to carpet at least the stairs (with a runner), the hallway upstairs, my bedroom and my DS's room.

I know HW floors look nice but am I alone in liking carpet too?

This has been a huge battle for us since we redid the floors. It seemed so cold upstairs all winter and I feel like carpeting would make it feel less severe but DH is 100% anti wall to wall. So I am just going to get area rugs and a runner for the hallway that go to within like an inch of the wall

I have hardwood in the house but carpet in the bedrooms. I think it feels more cosy.

I like both. HW in LR/DR (and i have it in my kitchen)
But carpet in bedrooms is a must for me!

While I love carpeting, hardwood floors are so much easier to keep clean. I also have very bad dust allergies and carpets are horrible for me. We only have carpeting in our upstairs hallway and the 2 living rooms downstairs.

I like to look of hardwood floors in the bedroom but I feel like carpeting is so much more comfy. I wanted to do hardwood floors on the whole first floor of my house but DH insisted upon having carpet in the LR. So that is what we have for now.

Funny I was just thinking the same thing. We just redid our hardwood floors, but we left the carpeting in the bedroom which will be replaced eventually. I was debating whether or not to pull it up, but I really like something soft and warm under my feet when I get out of bed.

I go back and forth, back and forth over this same exact thing. I really miss having that cozy feel of carpeting in my bedroom. But at the same time, do I really want to cover up my great hardwood floors with carpet? Ugg. I can never decide!

I would love HW floors throughout the house, we are about to do a 2nd story addition & the BR's will be upstairs, so as much as I'm not a huge fan, the carpeting will help block some of the sound, and we can always change to HW down the road.

we have HW in our entire house except:
the kids rooms and playroom are carpet
kitchen & baths are marble tile

I don't miss carpeting and have area rugs. While the dust bunnies are a pain...it's actually more hygenic then what gets trapped in the rugs

We have HW and tile through and through EXCEPT the BRs. We have Wall to wall in the bedrooms and I 100% agree its cozier.

Alot of the time HWs are great for people with bad allergies because wall to wall holds allergens...

I love hardwood floors DH and I just installed it in the living room and the dining room. (we did the work ourselves it was hard work but it was soooo worth it)I love the floors, it looks beautiful. dh wanted carpet in the bedroom, I agree, but I wouldn't mind hardwood either.

I have and will always have carpeting in the bedroom, the bathrooms have tile and the rest of my house is hardwood

we have our bedroom as carpet because to repair the hardwood would of been insane but i like waking up and touching carpet. I think its good to have a mix.

We used to have the bedroom carpeted but found we were having lots of nasal/respiratory issues from the imbedded dog hair/dander (and neither of us are allergic). It was also difficult to keep clean because of the dogs (it was when we still had three).

we currently have HW in our apartment's bedroom and it looks beautiful...except that it's always dusty (no matter how much i sweep!) and cold on bare feet in the mornings. We threw down an area rug which helps but now we're vaccuming in there too.

For our house, we're getting carpet in the bedrooms. It's cozier

We have hardwood throughout the upper two levels our house (it's a split), and DH insisted on carpet in the bedroom. I would have been happy with the hardwood and a big area rug, but he likes the feeling of the carpet. I would have preferred the wood.

we have HW in the living room, dining room, hallways and up the stairs. The kitchen is tiled and the office and bedrooms are carpeted.

I like carpet in the bedroom- for comfort, not style

i love carpeting all over. my parents had hardwood at one point throughout the house and my dad slid on the hardwood and broke his tail bone. also in a drafty old house the hardwood made the rooms so much colder.

I love the look of carpet in the bedroom.. but our hardwood floors are too nice to cover up so.. we don't.
