I took the leap...
I just made an appointment with East Coast Fertility. May 3rd is the day. I'm nervous, excited, scared and just about every other emotion under the sun!      
I always had the feeling that my journey to motherhood would take me down this path but it is still overwhelming.
They said at my first appointment they will be doing a sono and bloodwork, what else should I expect?

how long have you been trying? I dont know anything about RE's but im curious too I may be down the same path as you soon
We've only been trying for 6 months but I don't ovulate without medication and I haven't had a regular cycle since I was about 14.

They are going to ask you general questions about how long you been trying? Do you use opk? They ask about dh if he works in areas that can affect sperm count(well my RE asked) etc. Its a meet and greet in my eyes lol. I had to have surgery so that's why I got sent to RE. Also blood work and sonogram which you already know.

no that doesn't determine if that can be issue. He asked me if my dh would do a SA and I know he will not so I think that open the gates for that question. Sorry I didn't want to alarm you.

No worries, I'd rather know what's coming, KWIM? The semen analysis is no problem, thankfully DH is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to have a baby.

That's great!!! I wish you the best of luck!!
Your first appointment will consist of a LOT of questions for both you and DH. They basically want to know everything about your medical histories. Between that, sono and blood, I was out of there after about an hour.

With my first RE apt. they:
-Gave a script to DH to get a SA
-Went over our medical histories in depth
-Took 99750947594 vials of blood (I mayyyy be exaggerating here a lil:)
-Took a sono
-Went over our insurance a little bit
-Spoke about an HSG (I didn’t end up having this test done till down the line) and other tests that we would look into down the line if the time came.. (it did come:(, that’s another post
-Went over a game plan of how aggressive I wanted to be, they even asked if I wanted to start clomid the next cycle
Here is my advice, WRITE down any questions you can think of from now till the appointment. I had all these great questions, but when I got there, I went blank due to nerves and being overwhelmed. You will be fine, like pp said it’s a meet and greet. Also, look at this as YOU interviewing the clinic. Choosing a RE is a very important decision and you need to be as comfortable as possible with them.

Good luck to you!
1st appt:
-We went over history
-Got some bloodwork done
-DH got a script for SA
-Got a paper that explained what my insurance covers
2nd appt:
-I got a sono
-Got more bloodwork done

Good luck , which DR are you seeing? I see Dr. Pena there. I had my DD in 2008 after my first try with IVF. We will be doing a FET this summer. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Thanks so much I do have a couple questions! I'm not sure who I'm seeing, I just made the appointment today. Should they have told me who I was going to see? Did you try IUI before the IVF? Congrats on your DD and good luck with the FET
