I Don't Know What To Do?!
my mom and dads anniersary is Sept 28th and they asked me to come to Long Island and spend the night watching the kids while tehy went to Mohegan Sun.
isaid sure and rearranged my shcedule.
NOW..... my friend calls me and asks what i am doing Wed night? i told her i was going to LI to babysit my little sisters and brother.
she goes "oh no! we're getting married that night and were going to have alittle party"
so..... they are gettig married at town hall and didnt plan on having a party til her friend finally convinced her and took her cell phone and started planning alittle something for her that night.
WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?!
i want to go to my friends celebration, but i also need to help out my mom!?!?!

Wow Jess, that's a hard predicament but you did agree to do that for your mom and I think you should keep your word.
Your friend's thing was out of the blue though.
Do whatever you think is best but think about it carefully.

ug.... i honestly do NOT want to go to my moms.... besides it was my stepdad who asked me to do it and i hate him.
BUT i figured i would for my mom.
well, i guess i will just wait and see if my friends get together is 110% def happenign..... if it is i will ask my mom if my aunt can do it. (she DOES live around teh corner fom her)

i am thinking my aunt can.
she took off the same day so that she could drive me around while the kids are in school..... so i mean i dont think it would be the end of teh world if i couldnt make it.
if only my friend does it like monday or tuesday that would be perfect!

Honestly I would see if your aunt can do it. I know you like to spend time with your siblings, but if she can go & watch the kids then the problem would kind of solve itself.
Plus she lives closer & I am sure it is way earier for her to get there.

honestly...family comes first in my book. I've missed 3 weddings this year because we couldn't make it and 2 of them were my bridesmaids.
Your little brothers and sisters love you and need you. You can always get together with your friend and her husband and celebrate as a 4-some.

I say keep your word with your parents, but bring your siblings along to the wedding. That way, no deals are broken, and you get to enjoy your friend's wedding, even if only for a little while.

Is you were your younger siblings would you rather hang out with you or your Aunt? I know I would prefer my big brother.
I would help your Mom out she probably missed alot of things raising you, this would just be one thing so that you could help her out. Your other friend should realize having the party on the wednesday night and last minute might be tough on people... can she do it over the weekend?

i am surprised so many ppl think i should watch the kids! lol
i have watched them PLENTY of times and always go out to LI to see them.
this sort of thing happens all the time! (except the me sleeping over part)
my friend is only going to get married once!

honestly marriage is a big thing and if they knew they were going to be doing it and now decide want a party too, then to be considerate of others schedules they should give a little more notice. Or else shouldn't take offense if you could not attend.
While I know you are not gun-ho to babysit, you still agreed to it first.
