Hysterosalpingogram
Hi Ladies well I went to the fertility Dr for the first time on Monday was happy with everything over all I use Dr. Matthew Cohen @ NSH. He put me on Clomid for ovulation and I have to go for that fallopian tube test on Tuesday. I wanted to know if you guys can tell me if it hurts and if I can go to the appt by myself or do I need someone with me? My husband went for his test and everything with him was fine thank god so it is me that needs to get all test done. They did blood on Monday waiting for results. If everything is fine with blood and tubes we will do insemination. Wanted some info if anyone did the tube test?

Funny I saw dr Cohen Monday also! I had my hsg yesterday. I'm going to be honest, it hurt a lot, but from what the dr who did it said it was because I had a possible blockage in my right tube. The good thing is the test was very short and they take you in on time (unlike waiting for Dr. Cohen). My husband came with me but I drove since he is unable to at the moment. About 10 minutes after I was finished all pain went away.
It is a little scary but from what I hear it is not so bad for some. Good luck! You'll be fine!

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
Dr. Cohen was also my primary doc @NSH. When I had my hsg years ago, it wasn't that painful. Just uncomfortable. I never liked the speculum (which is why I hate pap smears also). I took analgesic before the procedure, as suggested. 'had slight menstrual-like cramps, but that was it. Tolerable. However, if your husband is available and can accompany you, that'll be better.

Re: Hysterosalpingogram
I posted on one of the recent boards but just to give you some info. The anticipation was much worse than the actual procedure. The procedure itself did not take too long and it was really just a lot of pressure. My tubes however were not blocked. We got pregnant the next month by the way. I was fine afterwards also.
