Huggies vs. Pampers

so my current battle is which ones to use... I don't really see too much of a difference between the two... what do you ladies think?

there is a book called Baby Bargains.. and they give reiews on EVERYTHING! I believe they said that Huggies Supreme was the best one& all the other Huggies leaked. But Pampers was the most preferred. you can get this book at Barnes & Nobles for $19.

There is new diaper brand on the market called White Cloud sold thru Walmart.. and they got rave reviews for pricing (the cheapest of out the diaper brands) and the no leaking tc.

yea i'm torn because my mom said that when i was a baby huggies was the better but i the parents i have talked to recently said that pampers is much better so. I'm going to go checik out that book, and also look into the walmart brand. At this point which ever brand is cheaper that works well

Wait until the baby's born -- different brands work for different babies. The hospital will send you home with Pampers Swaddlers. We used those, but switched to Huggies since we could get them at Costco. They worked for us. We tried Pampers Cruisers and found they leaked for us -- Huggies was the best in our situation.

ETA: I just saw the post above about all Huggies leaking -- totally not the case for us (or for many people for that matter or they wouldn't still be on the shelves).

I promise, this is a decision that can totally wait until the baby is born.

With DD#1 we found pampers to be much better. When we tried huggies, they leaked all the time. So we stuck with pampers.

I did a poll a while back, and I got an overwhelming response that a lot of moms prefer pampers.

For a newborn nothing beat the pampers swaddlers for me.

I was so sad when he outgrew them.

Ive had Huggies leak on me. I don't recall ever having a leaking problem with Pampers.

for us, Huggies were an absolute disaster. 95% of them leaked, it was horrible. We will never stray from Pampers again.

DD is 5wks old right now and while i do love the pampers swaddlers the size 1's are too big on her, but the newborn sizes were getting a bit snug. shes in huggies size 1 right now and doing fine i dont mind them at all right now,mind you she dosent move much...they are smaller when you hold them up to the size 1 swaddlers...i have to wait a bit longer to get her into the size 1 swaddlers...her legs seem to be to skinny for them...like other posters have said though it all depends on the baby!
Just try them out...i got all my diapers as shower gifts so i dont mind trying them out since it was free to me!

I too prefer pampers, even for wipes. Just feel they arent as bulky and fit DS better.

But I agree wtih a PP different diapers and wipes will work better for different kids, I woudlnt stock up I would wait and see what works best for you when you baby is here

We use Luvs. And Huggies Overnights. I love the Luvs.

I didn't like Pampers Cruisers or BabyDry

And to the poster who said White Cloud were new diapers, they have been around for year, my friend used them with her now five year old

We always liked Pampers more than Huggies BUT the Huggies overnights are the BEST!

I'm gonna buy a few brands.. small packages and see what works best before I stock up.. so far I have newborn huggies and pampers and i'm going to get a smal thing of White Cloud as well

I tried Huggies and the leaked. I've never had that problem with pampers.

Pampers worked better for James, so that's probably what I'll try for the next one.

I LOVE Pampers. They really are much better than Huggies. We never bought HUggies but were given a pack by a friend. My DD leaked out of them every night, and never leaked out of her Pampers. My DS has never leaked out of the Pampers either.

I just registered for one of each and will decide when DS is born!! Everyone seems to feel so differently about them!

Every child is different. Huggies stink for my DS--they leak 50% of the time. Pampers Swaddlers are great for him, they rarely leak. But some people love Huggies.

The only thing I can say is to buy small packs of each in the beginning. I am now stuck with a huge package of Huggies that I try to use up here and there, but they really don't work well for him.

DS leaked through Huggies all the time.
I switched over to Pampers Swaddlers and now he's in Cruisers. No complaints at all.
