i was thinking 5 years too... like we would have a big party with family and friends... almost like it is our first wedding....

but we're gonna be in vegas and i was thinking of doing it again just hte two of us... a fun one, not fancy (obv) but not sure if we do this if we shouldnt have a big party later....

hmm

if i do it in april i plan on wearing a leopard dress, a black veil..... to give you an example of what it would be like.

if we do it in 5 it will be more like a traditional wedding.

We're planning on renewing at 10 years. Our boys will be 6 and 8 and can be our "Best Men".

anything less than 5 years was the first thing i thought of.. but i think it really stands out to me when its like after 25,30,40 years.... it just takes on a different level of significance to me.

Anytime is perfect for renewal. Why does it have to be a certain year. If you're going to be in Vegas...go for it!

We renewed ours on our first anniversary in Vegas at one of those quickie wedding places. We just thought it would be a fun way to renew our vows and remember our first anniversary.

ETA: I think it's funny that most people posted less than five years and we did it on our first...and probably won't do it again until like 25 or more.

This was our renewal!!

Jes, do what you guys want. You have such a great relationship & your wedding celebration was not "typical." I know that you had though about planning a more traditional thing & to be honest I think you can do that at any time being that your wedding was very small & private

We are going to renew at 10 years, but only b/c we went bigger than I wanted for the actual wedding. The renewal will be my way - destination weekend with ONLY the people we want there.

ETA: I think no matter what you should do what you want. If it were a week or 20 years you & DH will have a blast going back & renewing

We went to Vegas for our honeymoon and renewed them at the Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel by Elvis. We were married a week.

I wouldn't do it before 5 years. DH and I will probably do it in 10.

I wanted to do it for our 1 year in Vegas, but we went to Aruba for vacation instead. Something for fun in Vegas can be done at any time IMO

I think you can do it whenever you want. If you and your DH renew in Vegas, and then again at your 5 year anniversary more wedding-like, I think that's totally fine and acceptable!!

Do it whenever you want. We are coming up on 10 years next year and plan to do something.

is never too soon, do it now for fun and in 5 or 10 you can do it more like the wedding you never had.

We were thinking either 5 or 10 years on a cruise ship, just me and DH and our kids when we have them.... no stress and then off on a vacation.
